Not sure why the reviews are so good. Garlic knots are amazing. That's it. I specifically asked the server if the sauce was... basily and he said no, as I am not a big basil fan. Lasagna arrived cold, like it just came out of the refrigerator, and themost basily sauce I've ever had. So much so it almost tasted minty. Off-putting for sure. Then we tried the pizza. Without a doubt, the best Italian food we have ever had. Get there as soon as they open!! Trust me, it’s so good that there... will be a wait. The portions were perfectly sized! The cocktails were delicious & sophisticated. We were in and out within anhour. Amazing service. This restaurant is what you make it, casual or romantic date night. Authentic perfection. Walked in at about 5 tonight with no reservation and was seated outside. Food and service from Federico did not disappoint! ... Went there 2 nights in a row as my friend left her card there. If there's a good review I can give, it is that I was glad to... have an excuse to go back. The food is wonderful, the wine list is great as well. Although I didn't get the pizza, watching itbeing made and it's gorgeous presentation made my mouth water. I guess I'll need to go a third time. Fast paced restaurant. Crowded on the weekends so be sure to make reservations if you have a party of more than 3. If you're... dropping in with 1 to 2 other people, ask to be seated at the pizza bar. Here you'll get the best seat in the house. You canwatch your pizza and calzones being made. Everything is authentic and super fresh. The guy that makes them is nice and worksvery quickly. There's a great drink menu with plenty of options that's sure to please everyone. Mimmo's is located in a shopping center but do not let that change your mind on quality. The interior is superb, warm, rich wood... finishes, stellar bar with countless wine and adult liquor choices. The food is beyond exceptional from house made pizzas,salads, cheese boards, soups, Italian pastas and beyond. Its two different worlds when standing in the parking lot versussitting in Mimmo's interior. I'm betting they are one of the best eateries in Destin, Florida and I don't say that lightly. Thebest part is you can dress casually and still receive a 5 star upscale experience with the best wine options and foods onDestin's main strip. Food was decent and the size of your plate was worth the cost. Service was alright. I know my party had a lot of children in it... as we all traveled from all over to visit Destin. The server was professional but we could tell she thought we’d stiff her,because we had a large party with children. The server added the gratuity to the bill and I still tipped her double even thoughshe may have made her own judgements prior. I will say one of the complaints another guest in our party had was the server let achild order an appetizer without ever asking the parent and when the food came the parent was surprised. I will still come backagain even given the circumstances as my family travels there every year.
