Reviews for Potbelly in Des Plaines, IL
Stopped in for a quick lunch and was not disappointed. Extremely nice staff
I give up on this location. I?d rather take more time and travel to a different one. I?ve been to this shop several times... recently and each time I?m disappointed. I worked at a different Potbelly?s location for years so I know what I should begetting, and this ain?t it. I tried to give them a chance n thought it was just the people working on a particular day but it?snot? Every sandwich I get is poorly dressed (a mess, all the hot peppers or condiment(s) in one spot, too much or too littletoppings) and/or messed up. Corporate has this sandwich business down to a science, i.e., 5 parts to the perfect Potbellysandwich, but it doesn?t seem like these guys got that training manual. And I?d be willing to let that slide, and the fact thatthe customer service leaves quite a bit to be desired, but today they sold me, what I believe, was an old ?baked today? cookie.I?ve eaten more than my fair share of Potbelly cookies- they?re baked daily so, when I worked there, we?d take home whatever wasleft because otherwise they?d go in the trash. But today I had my first dry, DRY ?baked daily? chocolate brownie cookie. Theonly way that happens is if the cookie is smooshed way too much, which it wasn?t, or it?s old. To me, that says their GM isbeing cheap and doesn?t want to lose money on unsold product, even though that?s what they should do because it doesn?t meettheir quality standard. And based on the overall experience I?ve had at this shop, it seems like profit is their number onepriority, when it should be #4. For a company I loved working for, who, on a corporate level, has their I?s dotted and T?scrossed, who has their priorities straight (people, customers, sales, profits), whose product I STILL love, after 3 years ofeating it constantly, this location is a bit frustrating but mostly it just makes me sad. I give the Potbelly Sandwich Shop in downtown Des Plaines 5 stars. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I appreciate that I... was able to get a hot warm sandwich to go, in a short amount of time. I ordered the "Wreck" which certainly is just like it sayson the menu, a meat lover's Paradise. I appreciate they have lots and lots of crunchy chips to choose from including the Zapp'sNew Orleans style kettle potato chips. There is plenty of parking around this Potbelly's, and it is easy to get in and out ofthe shop. Read more
Awful service. They got our online order wrong and we had to wait fifteen minutes to get it replaced. Also look at this blta.... It's the most sad sandwich ever. One tomato, two slimey floppy pieces of bacon and one tiny thin sliced of avocado. It's almostfalse advertising with how little of each ingredient there is. Awful experience. Read more
Not sure what happened to this spot but it?s going downhill. I ordered two soups and was the only one in line and neither were... ready by the time I checked out. They also didn?t have a tray for me and the soup just wasn?t good. What has happened to thislocation. Very Disappointing because Potbelly?s is great but this location needs help or a new manager. The broccoli soup wasn?tgood. Cold and bad. You can do better people. I?ll go to the one down the street next time. Read more
