My wife and I stopped in to enjoy the incredible Alligator Bloody Mary?s and the Swamp Platter for Sunday brunch. All I can say... ?unbelievable?!!! The Bloody Mary has fresh pickled everything AND fresh cooked Alligator! The Swamp platter has Shrimp,Alligator, Oysters, and Catfish? everything was delicious? catfish was the best I?ve had? including when we were in New Orleans. The platter is huge, and made fresh. Shandy mixes a mean Bloody Mary and the ?Boss? is unbeatable in kitchen? not to mentionjust really nice people. Will be back again?. As soon as I recover from my Swamp Platter Coma!! Thanks so much! We LOVE this place! I?ve been following the food truck around for years and the stand-alone location is amazing too! The shrimp... étouffée and fried pickles are my favorite! I love the fried catfish and the crawfish Mac n chz as well! DO NOT MISS thebanana pudding, if that?s on the menu you?ll wanna order an extra to take home with you! The staff is always so accommodating(I?m very particular) and kind. 10/10 and a customer for life! The dine in experience is great, very comfortable atmosphere. Ialso grab to-go so my kids can have some too, they love it! Read more

Been here twice now, had a catfish & swamp (alligator, oyster, shrimp & catfish) baskets. We enjoyed our food both times,... especially the catfish. Tasty sauces too! They have both inside & outside tables. We sat outside both times enjoying thesunshine (there is construction next door, but it didn?t bother us much). Glad we got this little place here in Des Moines! Read more

I've had the good luck of stumbling upon Creole Soul's vegan stew. Holy heck, WHAT a dish....! I also ate my way through a... spinach parmesan quiche that was TOP NOTCH. I would highly recommend Creole Soul's food to anyone looking for some good food inthe area. If you're visiting from out of town, this is a spot to put on your itinerary. I hear they have some great drinks andthe rest of the food is tasty as well, but my own experience has been limited so far. I'll report back once Read more

Y?all. If you?re from the south- then you KNOW! Nothing better than real- authentic New Orleans creole soul food. The incredible... owner, chef, food truck extraordinaire, secret recipe hoarder, former MBA star, Hampton: is the MAN! He literally flies to NewOrleans for fresh ingredients that (only us true southerners know you can find there). Do yourself a favor and come in for someflavor filled menu items. He has everything from fresh Crawfish and Shrimp Etouffee, shrimp and grits, Kickers that will changeyour life (think fresh fried appetizer balls of heaven) and much much more. Everything we ate was absolute bliss. This guy putsso much love and care into everything he plates. The staff- bartenders- servers- are all great and very attentive. We had agreat time! I never ever leave reviews- but I would be doing the community a disservice if I didn?t post about this trulyhidden gem. Oh and one more thing- don?t forget the banana pudding. It?s his grandma?s recipe- from scratch- and off the dangcharts!!! Read more
