The waiter was nice, but mumbled/didnt speak loudly enough so it was a bit painful trying to communicate(plus never got our... water refilled). I had went earlier in the year and loved the decore, but was unpleasantly surprised upon arriving to see mostall of it had been taken down, every wall but 1 being barren. Food was good, but it didnt feel like we got the experience beingpaid for. I'd like to go again on a date night, but there are always 3-4 other sushi places downtown. Read more

Restaurant is back to the split business hours, between lunch and dinner and I am happy about it. Everything was fresh, hot and... delicious. Best spot in the east village for Japanese food. Read more

Sushi was amazing, service was even better. We shared 5 of their specialty rolls between 3 of us and a small appetizer. Nobody... wanted dessert but we also couldn't say no to tempura fried cheesecake. This is in my all time top 5 sushi places to visit andit's smack dab in the middle of the Midwest. Don't sleep on this place. Read more

Miyabi 9 is the best sushi joint I?ve been to in Iowa. I have dined here twice, and both times I found the service to be... excellent and the food was delicious. My favorites so far include the: unagi nigiri, soba noodle bowl, amaebi nigiri, ikanigiri I had some strict dietary restrictions due to a medical condition (this was a year ago) and I still appreciate howaccommodating and kind our waitress was. Customers who don?t like noise may be a bit turned off by the atmosphere, but Ithought the music was fun and didn?t mind it since the food was so good. Read more

I took my grandson here on Saturday so he could try sushi for the first time. The first time I had been there since Mr. Miyabi... retired. I was very disappointed. No more chicken soup. No more soy sauce in kikkoman bottles. The shrimp were dry like they hadbeen sitting out all day. The tuna was an unusual color and looked unappetizing. The scallops looked mutilated instead ofsliced. The service was good, but I go for the sushi. And the sushi was mediocre. I am looking for a new sushi place. Read more

This was one of the loudest restaurants I have ever been in. I debated whether to even post this review as I didn't even manage... to try the food; by the time my water was brought to the table my ears were already hurting. The restaurant has bare walls andceiling, which both reflect sound quite well. This (unfortunately) meant that a particularly loud large party made therestaurant unbearable to be in. To the owner, please consider hanging something, (anything,) on the walls to deaden theacoustics. A drop ceiling would help immensely as well. Read more

This is the best sushi place in town, maybe in mid-west! They serve very fresh sashimi and sushi, which I never expected to have... such fresh and tasty sushi in Mid-west area! All cooked foods such as Tempuras are just like in Japan. There are full of chefsefforts in every dishes. Will definitely come back again! Read more
