Dinner last night was as perfect! The spicy edamame was the perfect start! We shared 4 sushi rolls: knock out crab, surf &... turf & two more I can?t recall:). Everything was delicious. My friend has a gluten allergy and they were wonderfullyaccommodating. Parking is scarce in the area? but there is an adjoining ramp and the validate your ticket so its free! Was just okay. Had a six top of an all family gathering. Honestly, it started out great with good attention from the server. But... we kept getting dirty plates, then sticky dirty saki cups so of course we needed different ones. Had a few menu questions also.Seemed like our server got really tired of us really fast because his attitude changed dramatically partway through the meal.Sushi rolls weren't too fantastic honestly but the appetizers were good. I wouldn't go back I think it's too hyped up of aplace. Getting given the dirty dishes twice in a row is really gross, too. I really liked the calming, quiet atmosphere. There were walls that were huge murals based on japanese culture. My shrimp... tempura was awesome, the white rice was great. My mom ordered pulled pork, which was also very good. 10/10 wouldrecommend. Although, they use the same fryer for food and seafood. So people with seafood allergens, either dont go, or ordersomething that's not fried, which not hard. I still would like to go for lunch again tho. Read more
I stopped in over the noon hour on Thursday. Such a great lunch spot downtown. I ordered the salmon bento box, and the salmon... was cooked perfectly. So delicious! Great service here too. Would highly recommend. Read more
I've basically eaten everything here but this last time I got a noodle dish and it is exactly how I remember my mom making it!... The flavors brought back such good memories that I go back every time I'm in Des Moines. Service is always on point, too! Andthe restaurant is clean with good ambience. Highly recommend! Read more
Legit Japanese food in the middle of Iowa. Everything we had was delicious. The sushi we got to share was some of the freshest... nigiri I have had in Iowa. I also had the Yaki Niku bowl (pictured) that was more food than I bargained for! Service wasexcellent and will returning ASAP as soon as I am in Des Moines again. If you have a love affair with Japanese food, this is amust-go in the area. Read more
The service is phenomenal. The waiter was friendly, engaging, and attentive. He made several recommendations and we enjoyed them... all. We ordered 2 appetizers, the muscles and tofu. Both were amazing. I'm not a huge fan of tofu but the fried tofu was solight and fluffy it melted in my mouth. We ordered 6 rolls to share. I don't remember each one but I loved them all.
