Reviews for Fishing Rock Eatery & Lounge in Depoe Bay, OR
Always fun to listen to the performers (our favorite is Steve Cook), and this was our first trip to the newly re-named,... re-opened, re-modeled lounge. The food was excellent (we shared a plate of the bourbon pineapple shrimp, and ordered thespecial -- BBQ ribs -- along with prime rib French dip, and tasty hard cider to wash it down. All were delicious, and, ofcourse, Steve's music made the evening perfect! Read more

First time there, super friendly, great atmosphere. Pizza awesome and their chowder to die for. Ordered take out the next week... and was just as good. They took so much care in making sure we had everything from napkins, to utensils, packed with care. Willbe going back. Read more
Chose this place at the recommendation of a lady on a walk, and I'm glad we did. We got great, friendly service on a quiet... off-season lunch hour and the food was delicious! We had the fish and chips (only available on Friday, we're told), buffalochicken pizza, and the cheesecake. Each was well made, served hot, made in house, and very tasty. Has a nice cocktail too! I'mgoing to be thinking about that cheesecake for a long time... Other features: Easy to find, good amount of parking, new andshiny clean place. Read more
We loved the food, service and atmosphere of Brixxton's and have been anxiously waiting for them reopen. We were excited to... return a few weeks ago, but were quickly disappointed. While the remodel looks great, the food wasn't quite up to the standardsthat we had enjoyed in the past. I had the shrimp po boy, and gone are the Cajun seasonings they previously featured in many ofthe dishes. While certainly not bad, it was just basic grilled shrimp on a bun, more akin to something I could have mademyself. The shrimp pasta was similar, just the unseasoned grilled shrimp on spaghetti with butter. The pretzel bread stickswere good, albeit a little overpriced at $9 for two. Drinks however, were great (two well made, reasonably priced MoscowMules). I chalked this all up to being open for just a few weeks, but it does seem the focus is much more on the bar and lesson the restaurant than it used to be. It would have all been tolerable, but adding insult to injury, we were charged $7 eachfor the three cupcakes we ordered for dessert for the family! The server didn't offer a dessert menu or mention the pricesbefore we ordered. When we questioned the bill, she just said "Oh yeah, sorry, they are pretty expensive". I've never had acupcake worth $7, and while good, these were no exception. Unfortunately unknowingly spending $21 for three cupcakes reallysoured the night for us. We'll give it another try after a few more months, hoping they get the kinks ironed out by then. Read more
I'm trying to be charitable here since it was opening weekend across a 3-day weekend and the waitress was obviously being... trained, so I won't mention the service. I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs, and was completely disappointed. The meatballswere dry and unseasoned, and the house-made sauce had no real seasoning and tasted like it came from a can. The "garlic bread"was a piece of bread with a large slice of cheese melted across it that had not been toasted and had no discernible garlicflavor. The spaghetti noodles were cooked OK, and that's the best I can say about the dish. My wife had the half-chicken meal, which did have a great sauce on the chicken but the skin was tough. The carrots were dripping with oil that tasted slightlyburned. The baked potato was huge, with no butter, a small dollop of sour cream and a few sprinkles of chives. Read more
We shared multiple dishes including the wood-fired pizza, tomato soup, house salad and steamer clams. Everything was wonderful!... The new look of the bar and restaurant is so inviting and open. We?ll definitely be back!! Read more
This review is for their fish and chips. It was not a good choice. I love good fish and chips and often order it at seafood... restaurants. In this case the menu said that the dish had four pieces of fried cod and waffle fries. Waffle fries wouldn't havebeen my first choice but I was OK with it. When it arrived there were four pieces each about the size of a squared off silverdollar, and maybe twice as thick. They were breaded and fried but still limp because they were such thin slices. The wafflefries were basically your basic frozen waffle fries, what I expected. There was also a basic Cole slaw that was decent, but thefish was just disappointing. All four pieces didn't even equal one piece I would get in most places. As for the service, it wasfine once we got hold of a waiter. The people were nice even though they were obviously short staffed like many restaurantsthese days. I will say my friend had a chicken sandwich that he said was good. So my advice is if you go to Fishing Rock skipthe fish. Read more
