Incredible food in a beautiful historic venue! My wife and I had brunch with a couple of friends and though the wait was about... 30ish minutes, the food was worth it. My wife got the breakfast po' boy, I got the salmon benedict, and we all shared beignetsand the banana nut bread. Everything was incredible! Service was a bit slow, but I chalk that up to the large number ofcustomers, clearly the staff was working hard and our waiter was very friendly. We would definitely come here again and werecommend stopping by for brunch! Read more

Went in for brunch on a Wednesday afternoon. We sat right away, customer service was timely and polite. I got the breakfast... sandwich with eggs, bacon and sausage gravy. I thought the portions of the food could have been more generous given the price. My partner got the bison hash with deep fried eggs. It was well composed but undersalted. Overall, I felt the experience waspositive and ambience very pretty. Would recommend. Read more

Sassafras American Eatery now serves dinner Thursday through Sunday, and you won't be disappointed! We were welcomed by the... owner (Michael) and well taken care of by several of the staff, who shared about their favorite dishes on the new dinner menu.We had the mushroom toast with the Sassafras-famous chicken fried egg which was delicious, and the fall-themed Sangriacocktails. They have an outdoor patio fit for multiple groups to enjoy a cocktail by the large fire pit while you wait for yourtable, and you will also be pleasantly surprised by the well-decorated and cozy interior (including the Halloween flair!). Wewill definitely be back thanks to Michael and the other staff at Sassafras who made us feel right at home! Read more

Quaint little place with a New Orleans feel. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Mimosas were tasty and the crab cakes... benedict were 10/10. Read more

Definitely worth the drive....we ventured to the highlands just for brunch....then found a cute farmers market....but back to... brunch...it was delicious! We got the breakfast Po' Boy and pigs in a blanket...so good! The pigs in a blanket it an evaluatedgrown up version of a fun kid food and the breakfast Po' Boy came on a toasted roll with a side of duck fat sausage gravy. Ohlawd was it so so good! The decor was so cute from the unique hand rolled silverware in different printed fabric to the cozypatio. The service was great! Such a fun yummy place...we will definateky be back! The restroom was also sublimely decoratedand superbly clean! Read more

The spot and the ambiance are amazing and the staff was super friendly. The only reason that I am giving this place four stars... and not five was due to the wait time and the somewhat hit or miss taste of the food. We were told there was an hour wait whenwe arrived at 10:30 and we were eventually seated around noon. Not too big of a deal - I know everyone is short staffedrecently. The food was good - the pancakes were incredible, the bacon was a little lackluster, the poached eggs were cookedperfectly, but the underneath sweet potatoes were decent - good not great. It's a place that I would definitely recommend butmaybe not if the wait is long. Read more
