Reviews for Pour La France! in Denver, CO
When do I depart here? My feet hurt, my back hurts, my head hurts; it's been a twelve hour delay. Frontier planes affected by...
the pilots' sit-out. I can barely write inside the frenzy of the Denver airport. I wait with a Provencal Salad from Pour leFrance inside Concourse B. Salad includes garbanzo beans, tomatoes, briny olives, crumbled feta, red onion circles,vinaigrette...yes, a lot. Needed this
This place has been around for many years, maybe since the opening of the airport. A lot of new places have been opening up at... DIA, and especially post-covid the existing restaurants have also had to change. The menu has shrunk down considerably to someof the most popular dishes (chicken and salmon, a few panini sandwiches, etc). They've also opened up a "to-go" section whereyou can grab a prepared sandwich or salad and drink to take with you on the plane if you're short on time. The upside of thelimited menu is that they are all generally high quality, tasty, and quickly served. I've become a fan of their Provencalesalad with chicken, and it's become one of my go-to meals when I want something lighter. My only complaint is that theredoesn't seem to be enough dressing in the pre-packaged containers. The staff has always been friendly and prompt, so don'thesitate to stop in here. Read more
The Salmon Dip and their Chicken Vegetable Soup were quick and tasty lunch-time favorites (we had no trouble getting served and... to our boarding gate on time)! Read more
Had a long lay over in Colorado and found this cute cafe that had a full bar and French onion soup. The soup was exactly how I... like it. With lots of cheese, combined with the perfect amount of bread. I ordered a margarita on the rocks and was glad to findthe bartender made it fairly strong. The service was quick and I had no wait to be seated. Read more
Sunrise breakfast It was good but nothing out of the ordinary and some potatoes weren't not cooked properly. To my understanding... of the menu It was more American than French but maybe it's because it was breakfast. Overall staff was Ok but no more than 3stars. Read more
The menu is limited but good French onion soup. Had the ham sandwich (croque monsieur) as well. Dipped it in the soup which I... thoroughly enjoyed and made it easier to eat the very hot soup. The fries looked great but were soggy. All in all, I enjoyed mymeal and will continue to go back to Pour La France. Pricey, but at the airport what do you expect? Update: Returned forbreakfast on my flight home. They have a similar breakfast sandwich with ham and gruyere. It is served with an egg and the frieswere delicious. This will remain my go-to place in DIA. Read more
They had a decent beer selection. Only $8.50 for draft. Chicken and cheese soup was not bad. Manager went out of his way to get... me a seat. I would definitely recommend this place. Read more
I frequent this airport establishment everytime I fly out, which is 2 to 3 times a month. Today, my wife and I are en route to... South America on vacation and we stopped in here for a pre-flight cocktail. I ordered a Bloody Mary but my wife decided sheneeded to do some shopping and left. When she came back, she had a single-order of Avocado Toast that she wanted to eat and satat the bar to have a quick snack. Some sort of manager who identified himself as a ?sommelier?told my wife to put the food away. She quietly packed up and left with her humble 1 piece of Avocado Toast. I expressed my opinion, with all respect and in a calmvoice that as a restaurant executive, for 35 years, I thought that was unnecessary. The ?sommelier? repeated himself four timesthat ?if? I was a restaurant professional, I should know better. Over and over again. Had he simply said, ?thanks for yourfeedback? and move on, that would have been okay. But he didn?t. He wanted to insist I should know better. Not listening tofeedback, even when you disagree, is unprofessional. With respect, I don?t understand his objections. This is an airportlocation, not a fine-dining establishment. This is a pit-stop, at best. Call yourself what you want, but your customers arepassing through and you should hope they do so with frequency. This is a ?no harm, no foul? situation that requires a bit ofprofessional discretion and common courtesy as well as some degree of professional courtesy. Had they just said ?we don?t allowoutside food, but go ahead and finish you toast? it would have been different. But to be told to ?put your food away? and ?youshould know better? smacks of unprofessionalism and disregard for discretion and common sense. I spend $25 to $50 for mypre-flight drinks and food usually, but now, they will lose my repeat business all because the inability of this ?sommelier? touse professional discretion and common sense. We didn?t walk in there with 3 pizzas and a bucket of chicken wings Read more
