We had an amazing time! I had a broken foot and the team was really kind about getting us a booth to sit in...so that I was... comfortable. The chefs tasting menu was delicious (and the wine pairings were perfect!). And we even had the honor of having theChef serve us a couple of meals and check in with us! All around great time. Wonderful experience! Celebrated my husband's new job and the staff at Mizuna were phenomenal! Totally worth it!! We did the 7... course chef's tasting menu and loved each new dish more than the last. Favorites were a quail-stuffed pasta with truffles and amushroom broth and a scallop dish! So tasty! This place was lovely. We ordered the three course meal and loved all of the little tastings in between they surprise you with.... Not pictured is a peach kombucha that was perfection, popcorn and horchata, and a fennel role. They also sent us home withchocolates and cookies, coffee, and donuts for the morning. Tasting menu was unimaginative, forgettable basic, not executed well. Dishes came out cold, overly salted and left hungry after... seven courses. Really disappointed because the waiter really sold us on the tasting menu over the a la carte option which seemedto have promise. The elk tenderloin was anything but tender, overcooked and cold. We did the chefs tasting menu. This was the only place with open reservation. Honestly it was ok but it was no where close to... 135$ plus 22%. The service was great. Presentation was ok. I enjoyed maybe 2 of the dishes and the flavor didn't really hit withthe main courses. The pork with peanuts just ruined the taste. The sun fish lacked flavor. It was simple and the taste wasn'tthere for the price. What really hit was the deserts. They felt more professional and the flavor was unique. The portions alsoleft a lot to desire. I mean just a little more couldnt hurt and might have made up for lack of flavor. The small potato withbutter and paprika at the beginning we all thought we were being pranked. It just tasted like a potato with paprika on it. Veryconfused and out of place. Again this was 135$ with 22% tip. We had mixed drinks and I tried 3 of them, all below standardquality. My bf and I had chef’s series there. Overall good taste and good service. However, we are not that happy with how the fees are... shown and thought it should be better pre-disclosed instead of finding out at the end. Although just some small dollars. We had the most amazing culinary experience with exceptional service from sever Caitlin S. and a wonderful wine pairing by the... sommelier. We chose the 9 course chef’s sampler along with the pairing of 7 wines. This was a great way to experience thechef’s dishes and to experience a variety of dishes. Each course were delicious, presentation was exquisite, and service wasfantastic. Highly recommend! Read more
The food was so incredible -- the short rib was fantastic, the beef Wellington was also good, and the chocolate cake (we were... told an original recipe for the life of the restaurant!) was particularly satisfying as well. Our service was fantastic -- I hada lot of fun with Jay :) Special note: there are *many* more small courses before, after, and in between the 3 course meal youorder.
