Great hole in the wall, as fresh as it gets! The cook came out as I was ordering, and the second I paid, she was right on... battering the fish. I could just about watch it all be prepared. Always good food, went a lot during the pandemic. Cod is wonderfully prepared, and has a good batter. Fries are nice too.... They?ll have little servings of all the side you can think of for your take away order if need be. Tried to get their a coupleof minutes early, mainly as just an inherent flaw of to go, crispy fried foods become soggy in containers. Would open them up onthe way home to make sure they stayed nice, and crispy as prepared. Read more

CHARACTER is probably the best word for it. The obvious order of fish and chips is their staple. But as an English joint they... stuff their own bangers and have several traditional English dishes. Shepherds pie, pasties & sausage rolls. Make it a cheat dayand go enjoy the experience. A couple side notes. First visit - mid afternoon. Ordered: Fish and chips Bangers and chips and to-go Beef meat pies Sausage rolls Fish and chips... definitely ????! I found the banger dry and bland. Ate it doused in a lot of malt vinegar. Pies and rolls were average. Notsure if they were fresh. Service was top-notch! Upped our rating from 3 to 4 stars. Friendly, fast and welcoming. As wevisited off-peak time, no problem with traffic in the area, which, could be heavy during peak hours. Free parking but could,again, be limited depending on time of visit. Read more
