This place is so much fun. My sister and I came here at about 5:30pm it was fairly dead inside. Joseph served us and did an... amazing job. He also taught me what bitters are, so that was fun to learn something new. The bar is clean and very estheticallypleasing. Read more
Edit: Owner reached out with contact info and offered to make right on the bill split that we had trouble with, which was... greatly appreciated. Changing rating to reflect. Was upset with service from bartender, but I assume that bartender was spokento about service and no business deserves to be punished for one bad apple. = Nice bar, great ambiance, great potential, really poorservice. Came in with mid-sized work party. Bartender was very rude, which I would understand if we were rowdy/unruly but thatreally wasn?t the case. She had some friends at the bar and seemed like she just wanted to hang out with them instead of servingdrinks. Bartender also charged the drinks of everyone at the bar on our tab. Brushed all of this off because it seemed that thebartender had her own troubles going on and I know the service industry can be rough and didn?t want to add to someone alreadyhaving a bad night. My main problem was that we asked to split the tab on two different corporate cards. I normally try to avoidsplitting bills but needed to do so due to corporate card budgets, and it was just two ways on a $1,000 bill. Again I?dunderstand if there were a lot of other customers but there weren?t. Bartender absolutely refused to split and went ahead withcharging all on one card. We tried to explain the need to do it but she told us she didn?t want to deal with splitting andtherefore would not do it. Honestly I could chalk this all up to one bad apple bartender, or even a good bartender having a badnight, but we?ve tried repeatedly to get in touch with the owner to sort things out and have not heard back at all. It?s a shamethat our colleague has to deal with budgetary issues because Gaslamp refused to split a bill. I try to refrain from writing negative reviews on a business; however, the service we received when we went entails for one. I... usually have a great time at Gaslamp because of the atmosphere and service, but not this time. My group and I headed to Gaslampto grab drinks and celebrate with our colleagues. I arrived a little late and was already greeted with a negative attitude fromthe bartender. I didn't think too much of it until I noticed throughout the night she kept giving all my colleagues an attitudewhen they were simply ordering drinks, she put random peoples' drinks on our tab, and when we asked if we can split the checkevenly for two cards, she refused. We had a very unfortunate night here. We went as a group (about 20 of us) and the bartender Lindsay was very rude to all of us.... She was also charging all the drinks ordered that night to our group tab, even for people that were at the bar and not with ourgroup. Our bill was $200 more because we were charged for others not with us. At the end when we asked her to split the billusing multiple cards, she said she couldn't do that and charged it all to one card. How can a place not split a bill??
