The staff is friendly, but seemingly overworked. Service is often slow because the servers are taking too many tables. I have... received rotten broccoli, and brown celery in my last few hummus plates, and the last few baskets of fries that I ordered werecold and chewey. I used to work for this restaurant group, and the Tavern restaurants are all about pumping out volume, neverabout quality. I would avoid it , but it is the only walking distance place to get beer and see blacked out sports games. Itwould be great if they would cut out the rotten vegetables, . It would also help if the servers didn't struggle with 10 tableseach. I am a 35 year restaurant veteran, with 20 years front of house experience and I would tell people to expect mediocrityat best. Been there twice. Calling their food average would be a compliment. Over priced considering I could make the same thing in my... kitchen for 1/6 of the price with superior results. Salad was good though! Went in there and had a bar tender act like he wastoo busy to help me with a whole 3 people at the bar. Read more
I have never had a bad experience at Choppers. Visited there on weekends and weeknights on several different occasions. ... Sometimes the service at the bar is slow, but nothing out of the usual. Nice patio, friendly staff and many big screen tvs. Great bar and atmosphere. Read more
Met former colleagues for dinner and drinks this evening and it couldn't have been better. Server was attentive but not... obtrusive, conversational and friendly. I had the Hawaiian flatbread, told the server I have lactose issues, and he informed methat the flatbreads could be served without cheese. It was delicious. Add two big Voodoo IPA drafts and the bill came to $22,in my opinion an excellent value. Read more
Come here for a monthly cribbage club event a d Choppers does a fantastic job of hosting our gathering. The servers are... phenomenal as we move around and yet they keep food and drinks straight every time. Kudos to each one! Food is good but I don'tget to eat when it's hot; my fault. Chopping requires an up and down motion and that is a perfect description for an experience at Chopper's Sports Bar, service was... slow, but when the server came around, she attentive and quick, great bar food with plenty of selection to satisfy everyone inyour party, entire menu is overpriced but hard to tell if it's because they are so proud of their offerings or just the victimsof supply chain and inflation issues, food is hot, drinks cold, and plenty of seating for the big games, would come back if intown again but be prepared for a sizeable bill. Great place to hang out! I had a Bison burger that was to die for. The waitress was really cool too. Good atmosphere.
The bartender asked me once what I would like. I didn't quickly make a decision, and was never asked again. I sat and waited... as she made orders for people who walked in after me, then made orders for other patrons, closed a tab, took orders from thewaitress. I wasn't approached again. Besides, they didn't have much of a variety of brews, mainly commercial beers. So, Ileft. The place didn't feel comfortable. Read more
