TERRIBLE. No A/C, ice cream machine broken, soda was nasty. Brisket was completely devoid of flavor, dry as a bone and their... sides were clearly leftovers from the two customers that came for lunch. I have never eaten worse BBQ in my life, including 2amgas station BBQ. Read more
Found a FLY in my sandwich. When I came home and took a bite of it I don't know why I think it was my instinct but I didn't... wanna eat the bun just the meat so I poured the brisket out of the bun just to find a dead fly in it. It grossed me so much Ihad to vomit???? it was really disappointing specially bc it was my first time trying This place and definitely not going backit was my first and last. I was planing on eating there but their AC wasn't even working so I decided to take it home. It wasall a waste of time and money. I was gonna go to Rudy's BBQ but Dickies was closer to where I was at that time but I think I'llstick with Rudy's from now on. Edit review after they replied here to my review saying to get in touch with the. So they wouldsolve my issue they DID NOT! I got back to them and they only asked for all my info and than they don't reply to me anymore. Ifthey put here that they are sorry and to get in touch with them, don't, because they're only going to waste your time and justignore you. Walk in at 30 minutes before closing! Wanted 1 lb brisket, they cut upen a FRESH one..we got TWO pounds! Very clean store,... people are SUPER friendly! Brisket was excellent and also the sausage! Just what we needed after a busy LONG day. Read more
UPDATE: This review applies only to the University Dr location. A year ago I gave this place a five-star rating, this year they... receive a one-star rating. I ordered a poor boy sandwich and okra. When I got home, it was a pulled pork sandwich and that'sall. I called the store back and attempted some reconciliation and was told they didn't do that. I called Dickey's customerservice line and they attempted to get my refund from the owner. The owner declined with no explanation. Went in to Dickeys to get some brisket and okra today. This is a normal stop for me once a week. They are consistently great in... both food and service. Found out that kids can eat free on Sunday as well (see conditions) so I may stop in on Sundays moreoften now. That means my two kids get both free meals and free icecream for dessert. If you're not from Texas and are there visiting looking for a Texas barbecue experience, this is not the place to go. Food was... ready super fast but it was also on the cold side of warm. I've had better barbecue in places in Wisconsin then this place inTexas. I realize this is the chain restaurant and shouldn't expect greatness, but I thought oh well we're in Texas we didn'twant to go look around for anything and this was on our way out so we gave it a shot.
