Went to Ruvens for Thanksgiving dinner...big mistake, never again. Totally unorganized and had to wait forever. When the food... FINALLY came, supposed to be turkey, but it was a turkey roll...terrible! The green beans were hard and cold, the stuffing wasso bad that my canned cat food at home would be better, and how can you mess up mashed potatoes??? So salty, could not eat..mygirlfriend ordered the salmon and it was over cooked and dry. I will NEVER go there again as I had told my friends and family,the WORST dinner in my entire life ever! Didn't even had anything to eat! And this restaurant is not even worthy of one star!Disgusting to say the least! Read more
Had breakfast there 4 times within 3 weeks, two separate trips, one being for a funeral, one being to visit. Great breakfast... special. Dawn, our server, made the highlight of everything. We asked for her each time we went back after the 1st time. Weatherwas great so we sat outside and totally enjoyed our breakfast every time. We'll be in Delray more often. Last night we had a party of three and decided to eat at Ruven's. We have been breakfast patrons for a long time and last night,... first time dinner guests. Our server was attentive and accommodating. Our meals were served, one dinner was unacceptable. Half aroasted chicken was over-cooked and the green beans were burnt. I decided to discuss this with the manager. When I told him themeal was over-cooked he informed me that he watched my wife cut into the chicken and told me that the white meat of chicken isgoing to be dry. That was interesting feedback considering they were busy and he never looked our way. I found his commentsunacceptable, and an apology was never offered. On top of all this we were charged for the side salad and iced tea that was partof the dinner special. That was unacceptable too. A manager who does not accept feedback then tells me that I am basically wrongdoes not belong in the business. This was our last time we will dine at Ruven's and I will share our experience with friends andfamily. Totally unacceptable and insulting behavior. There are many other options for dining in the area and losing customersis not going to build your business if you care. Read more
Food was ok. I mean how wrong could a place get fries and eggs BUT the bathrooms are extremely unsanitary. I was blasted with... the smell of urine that I gagged. There was also a urinal in there and flooring was laminate so they will absorb wet and forsure that?s one of the problems. Also black mold along bathroom molding on floor and around sink area. This place is totally incompetent. I placed an order on their website and drove all the way to pick up my order. Apparently the... entire restaurant went on vacation and didn't bother to stop online orders! They didn't bother to leave any kind of phonerecording, it just keeps ringing. They also didn't update their website. They made sure to charge my credit card for the order!I guess I have to wait for them to get back to hopefully get my money back. Read more
This was truly one of the worst meals I?ve ever eaten. It was actually inedible, as after three bites my mouth was coated in... oil, and not only that, it tasted like old, dirty oil. Aside from the food swimming in grease, there was ZERO flavor aside fromold oil taste. I?m not even kidding it tasted like I was drinking the fry oil. On top of the overcooked greasy fries, andoverdone greasy patty melt, the pickle wasn?t even a pickle?. It was a whole cucumber, that tasted like it was dipped in vinegarfor 32 seconds and then wrapped in plastic. Stay far away from this place. Even 1 star is too much. Read more
This is a fantastic delicatessen which translates to a ?place to eat delicious food ?!and ruvens is the one that serves... delicious food. We came a little late all the outside tables were taken but we were seated immediately at a very spacious place.The first thing you see is painting of mrs Molly Pican saying to mrs Cohen. ?Hello?&? as well as Art carney dressed as Nortonfrom the honeymooners there?s a large tableau of Brooklyn circa 1899. But that?ll be a background for great deli food As soon aswe were seated we were greeted by a shisel of coleslaw as well of an assortment of pickles. The menu was a typical delicatessenfavorite foods b but they have two night specials of Turkey large legs which I ordered including two large sides i ordered thechopped liver ( as good as grandma wished she made) as well as sweet potato fries also was a fantastic mushroom and barley soup.Unfortunately that was very filling so I took my dessert home My fiancé ordered the overstuffed corn beef sandwich with asalad. My grandson ordered a large hamburger both very good the menu was extensive more next time. Ruben is located in ashopping mall with loads of parking free My only complaint was that beers are not available. Horrid experience for third visit (culminated with preceding two visits with a substandard server). She is regular server who... opens, ALWAYS rushes order and RUSHES to clear us out EVERY TIME. DOES NOT give us time necessary to make food selection. Whatled to this abmissmal rating? HER attitude. Upon requesting buttered toast yet again this visit and her automatic response of"I can't do that due to Covid restrictions," I had had enough and called her on her lie. Rather than find a solution she choseto argue with me, belittle me and then turn on the platitudes. When she finally realized I wasn't backing down and I was goingto leave, she acquiesced and announced "Fine, I'll put some gloves on." Bottom line? She's continued to use Covid as an excusefor her laziness. Plain and simple. And for the this last, third visit, we were, and have always been, only one of two tablesoccupied - NO excuse not to perform such a simple task. She says she's been in the industry for 40 years, well it's 39 too many.Deplorable. Read more
