I really wanted to like this place. The sashimi truffle pizza and octopus were perfectly prepared. I tried the lychee martini a... friend had ordered and it was on point. The other dishes we ordered were average.\n\nNow the negatives: the fried rice wasreally dry and lacked flavor. The Australian Wagyu tomahawk was also a huge disappointment. It was hurriedly presented andtasted like it was left out for too long. The outer layer was burnt and gave several piece a really bad bitter aftertaste andruined the whole experience. There was no explanation given to the 4 different condiments. One of them was a flaky garlic saltwhich should have been drizzled over the steak but it was not explained. Read more

I love to read reviews, and same way I want to provide good information. This restaurant is a must try. Everything is great... here, ambience, food, service… you can’t ask for more. The place is beautiful, the music and ambience on point. Food wasamazing, the menu has great options so you will feel to share not to eat alone. We ordered Wagyu fried rice (best of the best)lobster tempura, perfect storm roll, Wagyu tacos and hot mess roll. Read more

Akira Back in Delray Beach is now our favorite restaurant to eat at in the entire US. I know that’s saying a lot, but it’s... ???? accurate. Everything is professional and top notch, from being greeted at the table within a minute, to the waiters (ourwaiter Justin was amazing) excellent service and description of any menu item you ask them about. The food presentation ofcourse is what you’d expect from a Michelin Star restaurant. But what brings this experience to the top of our list,undoubtedly is the food!! Every single item had your taste buds exploding with pleasure and just when you thought it couldn’tget any better, here comes the next time you ordered. The food was fresh, savory, light and delicious! A manager checked on usand every table throughout the meal to make sure everything was wonderful, and it was! We are locals, and we will now be diningat Akira in a monthly basis!\nIt’s a MUST SEE and I’d highly recommend, and have already, Akira Back in Delray Beach toanyone and everyone who likes amazing food! ???????? Excellent food and really great, classy vibe. The truffle bomb dish with schrimp+urchin+caviar+truffle was the highlight of the... night. Highly recommended. The wagyu short rib was also excellent. And we also enjoyed a lot the Akira sake. Service by Frankywas impeccable. Nothing like it in Delray. 5 stars without hesitation! Read more

1. I am so happy to try Akira Back in Delray. Top restaurants. Same level as Cote, Hutong in Miami.\n\n2. The best possible... interior and you can’t find this high level in Delray/ Boca\n\n3. Best possible food quality and presentation\n\n4. Perfectservice\n\n5. We travel from Boca to Miami every week to have real Japanese cuisine and now no need to do it anymore. Sushigo inBoca is a dirty and low quality place\n\n6. Management attention. Keep the same top level and I hope that local people willappreciate and support.\n\n7. This was my first visit to the newcomer of the downtown Delray Beach restaurants scene, located in the The Rat. With buzz of a... Michelin started chef coming to town (I personally find their rating system way overrated and more of a popularity contest)it’s rather difficult to get a table here during prime hours, unless you book out in advance. I just happen to do so a fewweeks ago, so this Friday evening I was intrigued to see what the hubbub was all about. Much to my chagrin, and expectations,certainly not a whole lot to rave about. The contemporary space is inviting and exciting, until around 830 when they turned onthe blue lights which provided an odd, cold feel about the place. The menu itself has various Japanese tapas style dishes,including sushi. With its next level pricing, I certainly would have hoped for more. Sampling a couple pieces of salmon andmackerel nigiri, I was rather underwhelmed with the texture and moisture of the rice coupled with the bland fish. The misoblack cod was rather flavorful and enjoyable, probably the best dish of the evening. The accompanying Japanese mushroom dish wasover salted and oily, another disappointment. Pictured is the signature tuna pizza drizzled with a white truffle oil, restedatop an umami aioli. This, however, was the second one. The first having a crust entirely burnt and bitter. The fresh one, whilecertainly enjoyable, was not the best version of a dish like this I’ve had by far. The saving grace of this meal was theservice. Our gentleman was rather gracious, understanding and apologetic. They comped the pizza as well, which was a very nicegesture. While I wouldn’t return, I am sure it will thrive due to the scene alone. We got to experience true excellence tonight. I heard about AB and did my usual reading of the reviews. Most were good, some... complained of small portions. I’m glad I read those so that when I was there I didn’t have any expectations. We were greetedby the 2 lovely hosts who made sure our anniversary was going to be special. I really want to give special thanks to Matt the GMwho took the time to come over and welcome us, tell us his background in the biz and even give some recommendations. Aftertrying multiple dishes my 3 favorite were the Tuna pizza, the Hot mess (new favorite sushi roll in Palm Beach county) and theBlack cod (thanks Matt). I can’t even describe how good the black cod is. As my buddy will tell you “it’s better thanNobu” we will definitely be back and will ask for Zach our server. Wow, I heard about Chef Akira Back, Michelin Star earner, even with that high expectation I was amazed the food was so... delicious and new flavors paired perfectly. Restaurant has an exciting vibe and staff eager to please. This will become one ofour new favorites. Read more
