My Fiance and I visited Chin's Del Mar this Sunday evening. This is the second Chin's location that we have visited, and both... have been wonderful. The del mar Chin's is small, elegantly decorated and intimate. The staff was warm and attentive and we wereseated quickly upon entering. The Tangerine Beef, my favorite dish, is always perfect, and this time was no exception. We alsotried the Cashew Chicken which was delicious, particularly the mushrooms. We walked away completely satisfied as we have come toexpect when visiting a Chin's location. Highly recommend for excellent quality Chinese food and service. Read more

My girlfriend and I went to the Chins Del Mar location last night and had an amazing experience! We ordered the Honey Walnut... Shrimp and the Sweet and Sour Chicken and both were so good and the portions were so generous, we were able to take some homefor leftovers. Tried to call in a pickup order. The person taking the order, who is not on site, got my credit card number wrong, had to call... the restaurant to see if something I had ordered previously was still in the menu(it wasn’t), asked me if I wanted to give agratuity (ahead of time, which I didn’t), and ultimately got my one dinner entre order wrong. Used to be Double Happiness Chinese Food. Chin's is a small franchise out of Escondido, (((North San Diego))). Pretty much... same food, newly renovated inside. Prices a bit higher, but, I'll continue eating there and send guests from my hotel. Read more

So disappointed in Chins Szechuan. Chins Del Mar occupies the location of Double Happiness, a longtime local icon of American... Chinese cuisine. When Double Happiness sold to Chef Zhu a few years back, the American Chinese menu was augmented with somemore exotic and traditional Shanghai cuisine. It was truly delicious! It was heaven... but heaven fell victim to covid19. When Chins opened, we had hopes for at least a passable local Chinese alternative. We've tried twice. Both times the foodwas tasteless, poorly prepared, and without character. The first time, I blamed it on teething issues at a newly openedrestaurant. The second time, I just discarded my entree. I've lived in Del Mar fort many years. It's so sad to see arestaurant fall from delicious to discardable. I'll not go back.???? Read more

First time dining at Chins and it was excellent! The service was wonderful. We started with the por dumplings and they were the... best I've ever had.
