My husband and I and friends from the twin cities dined here this evening. I believe it was the best food I?ve eaten at a... restaurant in a long time. I had the seafood pasta and my husband had Swedish meatballs. Both were delicious. Our waitstaffwas very nice and very attentive. The food was served quickly and arrived nice and hot. We live in Milwaukee, but our favorite restaurant is in Decorah. The toughest thing about dining at Rubaiyat is deciding on your... beverage and entree. No matter what you choose, you will not be disappointed. Chef Andy creates flavors and combinations thatalways leave you wanting more. Owner Kim (and her amazing staff) can find a drink (alcoholic or NA) for every taste. They are sowarm and welcoming, we can?t wait to come back. P.S. Don?t skip dessert. You?ll thank me later. If I were on death row this is where I'd want my last supper to come from. Best ever! 1st, this place often has a 2-3 day... waiting time to get a reservation, so be aware. I was not aware, so was disappointed when I called to find out they were bookedfull for Friday and Saturday. As we are from Boone, Ia, we were not going to be back anytime soon, but without much hope I putus down for a cancellation. WE WERE SO SURPRISED! When the owner/hostess called us and let us know there had been acancellation! I had also wanted to get two of their homemade cinnamon rolls but was told they only had one left (you need toorder these 24 hours ahead). Well, I'm glad they only had one and it was HUGE, plenty for me and my husband. I got the primewith lobster sauce, huge chunks of lobster is a cheesy base. OMG!!! I have never had anything so good. Hub had the prime riband swore it was the best he'd ever had. Everyone was unbelievably friendly, made this "event" on of the best in Decorah! Thankyou! Read more
We once again had a wonderful meal here tonight. We enjoyed prime rib, pasta and pork and they were all delicious and perfectly... done. Even the side dishes of sweet potatoes and brussel sprouts with my pork were extremely tasty. The service was excellent,including a stop at the table by the owner who welcomed us like we were old friends after only our second visit. Amazing food, service, and atmosphere! Went here for a special occasion and it was well worth it. I had salmon that was... perfectly cooked and the best creme brûlée I?ve ever had. Great atmosphere, friendly service, and delicious food and beverage options. We always have a great experience, and the food is... always amazing. Sometimes we make the mistake of not making a reservation on weekends, and find there are no tables availablefor us. That's to be expected from such a top notch restaurant with 5-star food, in such a small town. I highly recommendcalling to make a reservation if you plan to visit Rubaiyat. Read more
