This place is openly hostile to nearby residents trying to walk to the heavy rail rapid transit station within a 6 minute walk.... There are zero considerations for human beings passing through- no sidewalks along a busy thoroughfare, and there is activelydangerous debris and metal sticking out of the small strip of land between the street and the derelict, unused, and fenced (thenerve! ) parking lot. This site is an active safety hazard and public health risk. The property owner needs to stop activelyendangering the lives of nearby residents! Read more

Very informative and cool! A great way to learn the history of Avondale Estates and the iconic Waffle House

It is closed and they use shutters and tint so you can't see in. Not worth going there at the moment. Reopen and let me in and... I'll upgrade this review. But as it is now, it's a waste of time for anyone who goes there Read more

It was interesting seeing the history. A plus if you go when they are having an event you get a free waffle.????

So cute! Great for elementary age to play behind the counter. Has listening stations for oral history. The corporate office had... a docent there which was helpful. The smell of waffles was intoxicating. Photo opportunity was nice, funny. Follow them onsocial media to find out when they are open. Not a full time museum. Read more

Celebrated my wife?s 30th Birthday here! I was disappointed that it wasn?t setup like an actual Waffle House as I thought I saw... in pictures, but nevertheless it was awesome. The food was catered by Waffle House, and we had an awesome time! If you?relooking for a small, intimate place for gatherings this is the place and it?s very affordable! Read more

This site of the 1st ever Waffle House is a great place to entertain the family on the cheap. Go during their free weekends and... get waffles and bottles of Cokes...for free! A nice piece of Georgia history and a must for any Waffle House fan, but be aware, this is NOT an actual restaurant, so don't go looking for food on a non-open house weekend. My kid loved playing the availablegames with the other children and that iconic paper hat...couldn't get it off him! Read more

This was really fun. I went here with a group of 7 kids during one of their open houses and they had free waffles and different... kinds of cool pins and they had a "museum" next door where the kids could actually play behind the waffle house counter andpretend to cook and sit at the counter. The only problem I had was that it didn't really seemed like a museum like in thetraditional sense-that is what i thought it was going to be. Also, the lines were extremely long waiting for the waffles whichisn't necessarily the museums fault but it was the middle of summer in GA so they could of thought about possible sun shadecoverage before hand.
