Highly recommend, at least brunch so far. I'm almost certain they won't disappoint at any meal. Upon entering the restaurant,... it was nice experience. The young man who greeted us was friendly and smiley and very sweet. I had a mimosa first, which wasgood. Then our server Steven came over an it was equally as pleasant. He was super nice and helpful. The manager seemed veryactive in the customer experience and even delivered our food to us. What a well oiled machine with a great staff, at least whenwe were there. I asked about cooking my poached eggs a little more and they did them perfectly. I got the eggs over my hammyand I highly recommend it. It was an awesome combination of flavors. I am always hesitant to try hollandaise sauce dishesbecause I know how iffy it can be. Definitely not disappointed. I literally ate the entire amount of food and I was so full, Iwouldn't have been able to eat more, but not overfull, meaning excellent portion size. My boyfriend got The Southern which waschorizo gravy over biscuits. He said the biscuits were great flavor even alone but he was very pleased with his meal as well. Heate all but two bites. Overall this was an awesome experience. Highly recommend. At least brunch. Prices for brunch were veryreasonable for the quality. Beats the chains and even most diners.... I believe everything is fresh which makes a HUGEdifference. Most restaurants use shortcuts like prepared foods and such instead of making homemade. I do not believe they dothis and it shows in the meal you are presented with. Oh and it's a casual experience, very comfortable. That makes me want togive it a higher rating ;) Read more

Neighborhood restaurant to grab a bite to eat. The parking was very tricky for me. My GPS said I arrived and I'm like confused.... Once I visited the website to look at the photo of the building I finally found the restaurant. Free street parking or parkbehind the building in the complimentary parking lot. I met a friend here for Sunday brunch. I was greeted with a warm welcome.Sonya was our waitress and attentive. The manager stopped by our table to see if we needed anything. It was easy to make areservation - which I recommend. I was not too thrilled with the brunch menu. We started with a hot shrimp dip that was just okand the shrimp were hard to find (if there even were any in it). I pieced together my meal that included smoke wood bacon, gritsand a biscuit. The grits lacked flavor; the bacon was nice and crunchy; the biscuit was fluffy. My friend devoured his hangersteak. Read more

Scout is a gem!! I love having brunch here in this historic building. It’s beautiful ambiance make it a great place for all... occasions. The patios are spacious, and give the restaurant a different feel. My family and I enjoy ordering the pretzel bitesthat every time we go, we order two! I do have to mention how delicious their regular cup of coffee is. I’ve tried severalfood items on their brunch menu and can honestly say they have something for every body. My 8YO loves their French toast(I meanhow can you NOT when they give you a good bit of challah bread?! ????) I highly recommend this place for early morning dates, family brunch, a friend meet up or just a place to wander around. It’s located on a very walkable area that is often busy. Read more

Very spacious and one of the few restaurants that accept reservations for brunch. Bloody Mary wasn't very flavorful but they... promptly exchanged it out for another drink. Food was decent. We tried the shrimp wreck and salmon burger. Service was verycourteous and reliable. Would like to give it another try Read more

4.5 | wow, I wasn't expecting to love this place, but it came highly recommended by a trusted friend. the shrimp dip came... recommended by a few other reviews here and we ordered two because it was just simply delicious. the meals were enjoyed by allof us. I just had the appetizer shrimp dip and the contender [cocktail], as I wasn't super hungry. I think the meals were allaround impressive, and the waiter sealed the deal when she suggested the cookie dessert with a burnt marshmallow and ice creamtop. it's on the sweeter side of course, but it was so so satisfying. the cookie is baked in the same cast iron skillet theshrimp dip comes in, and it was perfectly soft and crisp with a slight butter glaze at the bottom of the cookie. the drink weregreat, the food, and the atmosphere. my friends ordered the shrimp and grits, the burger, and the corn beef hash breakfast. alllooked lovely, and they enjoyed it. though the burger my friend said seems more of a smash burger style, she would havepreferred more of a medium burger with more bite. I think you truly can't go wrong with a cocktail and an appetizer here, granted that was my order. however, the waiter said they get a lot more traffic, though it was quite frequented for brunch eventhough the location is a bit more inconspicuous, during their dinner time. be aware that they do close the kitchen from2:30-3:30 to prepare between brunch and dinner. update - I have been back, at least five times. it’s nice little hidden gemin Decatur where it's greater! This was my first and will definitely be my last time visiting this place. I came here with my nephew for a relaxed dinner. ... That is not what we received. The breakdown: 1. The rude girl at the front desk asked if we had reservations for a restaurantat 40% capacity. I said no and she made it seem like such a hassle before finally seating us. 2. Ordered a shrimp dip whichironically was missing SHRIMP. 3. The medium burger looked good before realizing the patty was burnt with a charred bun. 4.There was a 40-minute wait to receive this trash Result: We asked to speak to the manager and who appeared but the rude girlwho sat us. Her name is Sarah. Her nickname is Queen of Poor Customer Service and Snotty Attitude. The first thing out of hermouth was that she couldn't take off the dip because we ate most of it. AT NO POINT DID EITHER ONE OF US ASK FOR ANYTHING FREE. I told her that we wanted to voice our opinion about the awful food and slow service. AGAIN, SHE TRIES TO MAKE IT SEEM LIKEWE ASKED FOR SOMETHING FREE. NOT ONE APOLOGY; JUST MORE OF HER STANK ATTITUDE. I paid the bill and left. IF YOU ARE A FAN OFPOOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND EVEN WORSE FOOD, PLEASE VISIT THIS FINE ESTABLISHMENT. Read more

5 stars all the way. Decided to try this place on a whim, lucked up getting an outside table for two located on their balcony... deck (lovely 70 degree evening with sunshine). As soon as I entered the main section of the restaurant to speak to the hostess Inoticed the decor and style, absolutely loved it (thoughtful, trendy, cozy)--clean. Opted for sharable small plate appetizers:cauliflower, salmon grill tender of some sort, peppadews, pretzel bites. Wow. Wow. Wow. All so yummy! Opted for a Bees Kneescocktail (the bartender made one of the best I have ever had). This place has everything you want, Vibe, great customer service(Thanks, Sheri) and New American style fantastic food. Read more

Made reservations for a rainy afternoon Sunday brunch. Glad we did b/c it was fairly busy. Food was pretty tasty. Really enjoyed... Scout's rendition of Chicken & Waffles. The chicken had the right amount of kick & the waffle was the right balance of crispy &light. I would order it again. All 3 of us enjoyed our appetizers, meal, & drinks (although I'm always a little bummed whencocktails have no garnish/presentation especially when they are $12+). That said, I'm deducting a star for service. Everyone weencountered was friendly & accommodating but we had to track down a server for every basic thing. To get menus, to get plates(food came out before we had them), to get a to-go box, & we waited forever to get the bill (& that's after I asked one server &finally got up to go find another) I'd say the key to a successful meal at Scout is to come equipped with patience & plenty oftime to dine.
