We enjoyed beautiful evening, the place is so nice decorated, service is excellent and the food wonderful. We had liver pate and... escargot for start then I had ten Wellington salmon- it is such a delicate dish. The other on the table had the chicken, staffpork chops and cordon blue. Everything was great. Desert was cream brûlée and tart Yarden with apple and fresh figs. The ownerwelcomed us and ask us questions - it is nice place, good food and good vibe. Read more

Had the most pleasant experience. Both the waitress and owner gave us excellent service. The food did not disappoint. The beef... Wellington was incredible while being reasonably priced. The chicken breast was great too. Do not pass up an opportunity to comehere and make sure to split a bottle of wine with company. Read more

We were looking for a new, interesting place and came across Cafe Alsace. This is a small, quiet little french restaurant that... feels like a piece of France was dropped in the middle of Decatur Square. I have a love of escargot in Garlic and Parsleybutter, so I had to order theirs. To my delight, it came out with as many slices of their homemade baguette as escargots (6). Ifyou have had this preparation, you know it is more about the sauce than the snails, and that sauce put a pleasurable smile on myface. The escargot themselves seemed a tad overdone, but overall, it was exceptional. My wife ordered the Pâté du Chef, whichhad a deep, rich flavor of sweet, savory, and nutty elements. It was also served with several slices of their homemade baguette. This was also wonderful. It would be difficult to recommend one of our appetizers over the other since they were both sodelicious. For the main course, my wife had the Salmon Wellington, and I had the Chicken Cordon Bleu. The Wellington was muchlighter than I expected, and the blending of the pastry with the salmon was unexpectedly fresh and flavorful. Unfortunately, the Chicken Cordon Bleu was much heavier and did not really appeal to me. I had just a couple of bites and had to set it aside. This was really just a bad choice on my part since everything else was so good. Finally, we almost never eat desserts atrestaurants, but they had a dessert case that we had to investigate. We opted to take home their Lemon Tart and the ChocolatePot de Creme. These were very rich and balanced each other with the lemon being slightly tart and the chocolate much heavierthan a mousse. Though small, they lasted an hour as we took small bites while watching a movie on the couch. Overall, we highlyrecommend this restaurant, especially if you are looking for a great little french café with high-quality food and a laid-backvibe. Bon Appétit! Read more

If you enjoy the feel of an authentic French restaurant offering authentic French food, you're in for a treat. As someone raised... right on the French border, the delicious meal I shared with my husband was one of the most comforting dining experiences I'vehad the pleasure of enjoying. Couldn't help but grab a whole bunch of food to go for later snacks reminiscent of my childhoodhome. Read more

Gem of a place. Mostly couples and boomers enjoying a slow luncheon. Classic dishes, sizable portions and reasonable prices.... About $60 for two with desserts and drinks. Read more

Cute french restaurant in Decatur. Came here for dinner one night with friends who highly recommended it. I definitely enjoyed... the ambiance. Lots of dim natural lighting. We ordered so much. Cheese board, liver pate, beef Wellington, roasted chicken,wine....etc. My favorite item was definitely the pate. It was super flavorful. I could see myself ordering a pound to take home.Everyone at the table seemed to enjoy their meal. I wouldn't likely order the beef Wellington again. It was undercooked for mypreference. I asked for it to be cooked more but it came back with the ends seered and the center still red. Parking was easybut not free. We parked at a $5 (cash only) lot across the street. It was pretty full when we parked so my friend had to opt fora different lot. Overall I would go back but I would have the pate as my meal. Read more
