Good place to go if you like old fashioned entertainment. The Food is really good. Service is OK if you like the older... generation serving you. I do recommend this place for lunch. Long time Dayton resident middle aged w/m. Always heard of Slyder?s, and I wanted to try the burger. Stopped in on a Thursday.... Got a new job and wanted to treat myself. Lots of regulars. I sat at the bar. A big muscular bartender got me a beer. He askedif I wanted a menu I said yes. He tossed it on the bar and I did not see him again for 20 minutes when I was cashing out. Heliterally never came back to take my Order. He walked by several times. Got the serious vibe I wasn?t welcome there. So Ifinished my beer, and got another bartender to cash me out. No idea if the food is good. The service seems great if your aregular, but if not I don?t think you?re wanted there. I guess they are fine with a business of just their regulars. I've been wanting to go to Slyder's Tavern ever since hearing that they were awarded Dayton's best hamburger. I got a mushroom... and Swiss 10 oz Burger and onion rings. The burger did not disappoint and was cooked just as requested. It was delicious. Mywife got a chef salad and it was enormous and loaded with meats and cheeses. She said it was great. I love the ambiance of thedimly lit old tavern. In addition, our waitress was fantastic. She was very outgoing and pleasant without being overwhelming. Perfect visit, we will be back. Read more
You ever just look at your food and know it's going to be good? That is the exact feeling I got at Slyder's. The wings were... delicious and the mushroom and swiss burger was equally as good. The owner was present and the bartenders were super friendly.When I walked in the bar was packed and everyone was eating. That is always a good sign on a late Tuesday night. Absolutely delicious food. Service was amazing regardless of how busy and the safety restrictions. I had a cheeseburger & onion... rings, my fiance got the patty melt & fries and we got a jumbo sampler appetizer. I could not be more satisfied especially forthe price. Definitely going to become one of our regular spots.... We are now on a mission to try everything on the menu! Read more
This was our first time visiting. It was definitely more than I anticipated! The inside was very clean and well organized. On... the outside it simply looks like a bar / tavern but on the inside it's almost like a family restaurant inside of a bar. The foodis well priced and has a good flavor. I definitely recommend paying a visit and will definitely be back. The staff were reallygreat as well and Brad was a great server. Read more
