I wish I could have given a better score. I'm thirty five and had heard great things about the Pine Club my whole life. But... never went because of the price point. My fiance and I decided to treat ourselves for our 9 year anniversary. The place wasdimly lit and dirty. I get that part of the charm is that the restaurant hasn't changed over the years but I think it is time.Surprisingly, the place was packed. No reservations here, which is ok, but if the tables are full and the bar is completely sat,you are forced to just awkwardly stand against the wall while people shuffle by. We stood there for about 45 min before we sat.The server was and older lady who seemed bothered to be there. I don't know. Maybe this is how all of the servers are or she wasjust having an off night. The free bread was stale and the butter was ice cold. I got the bone in ribeye with a baked potato, house salad, and stewed tomatoes. The ribeye was cooked properly but nothing special. I could have made it at home for a quarterthe price or at Texas Roadhouse for half the price. The salad was iceberg lettuce with some shredded carrots on top. Famous PineClub Italian dressing came with and it tasted of sugar and vinegar. Nothing special. The potato was super hard. And the stewedtomatoes, I SWEAR, tastes just like Campbell's tomato soup mixed with sugar or honey. My fiance got a filet, well done, (Yes, Iknow. I've tried but that's how she likes it and it was our anniversary so she gets what she wants.) that came out medium. Shedidn't say anything and ate about half of it with a bunch of A1. The only way she could get it down. They charge by the can forpop and believe it or not it's CASH ONLY. It's 2022. How are they still cash only? The bill came out to $113.00. No alcohol, just food. We tipped $17.00 and couldn't get out of there quick enough. I was so excited to try a restaurant that i had heardabout my whole life. All positive. It was a special night for us that just fell flat. Amazing steak! Unlike most steakhouses with a la carte pricing, each meal here includes bread, a small house salad, potato, and... stewed tomatoes. The house salad is simple with iceburg lettuce and carrots, but the house dressing is what makes itdelicious! The steak itself was tender and cooked as requested. Both the baked potato and the mashed potatoes were creamy andseasoned well. While I don't typically eat stewed tomatoes, I really liked them here and recommend trying them. A few tips: -they don't accept reservations, so arrive at opening for a minimal wait - cash only - no fountain drinks so if you are a popdrinker, it is cans only Read more

I?ve been coming here since high school, about 40 years and they are still doing it right. The waitress and bartender were... awesome. Filet mignon is excellent, cash only so bring cash. Read more

The Pine Club is usually one of the most recommended restaurants in Dayton. The food is good, but the overall experience is... probably a little overrated. They don't do reservations, don't accept credit cards, don't have handicapped accessiblerestrooms, and the dining booth environment is cramped and a bit run down. The food is good, but for me the overall diningexperience isn't really worth making frequent visits. Read more

The Pine Club is a cozy little place to have an intimate dining experience with a loved one or a small group of friends. I... ordered a drink from the bar and it was tasty! They offer salad and bread before the meal which was ok. The meal wasn't asspectacular as I was hoping but it wasn't bad. It was lacking flavor for me. I was hoping for something special but it was justalright. The service was wonderful. Bartenders waitstaff and Hosts were absolutely great. Read more

Great steak house. I am so fortunate to be able to dine in at this fantastic steakhouse. Truly the best steak in Mid-USA. I... had a 20oz bone-in ribeye. Normally 20oz is way more than I can eat BUT the crunchy caramelized outer layer with moist andjuicy, tender inner layer of medium rare broiled ribeye disappeared from the plate into my stomach so fast that I wanted more. Ihope I will have another chance to dine in at The Pine Club again, when in Dayton, Ohio. Read more

If you're in Dayton, and would like a unique experience that includes a trip back to the early '50s, The Pine Club fits the... bill. There's a history of the place on the placemats, and it hasn't changed much since opening. First and foremost, thisplace is cash, check, OR they'll mail a bill (seriously). Additionally, they don't take reservations, so get there early or beprepared to wait at their ample bar seating. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. Upon being seated, our server(Julie) was very attentive, answering any questions we had. Between the surf and turf/bone in ribeye, there wasn't a singlecomplaint at the table. Absolute dinner perfection. If you want a familiar experience, go to Longhorn. If you seek somethingonly found in Dayton, give The Pine Club a shot. Read more
