We had a lovely experience when visiting Grist last night for dinner. A foodie?s dream come true. My husband had the risotto... while I had the butternut squash stuffed Agnolotti. Easily the best pasta we had ever had. The flavors were well balanced yetbold and sometimes unexpected and pasta cooked perfectly Al dente. We started with the focaccia bread with butter, flaky seasalt, and a rich olive oil, which our two year old eagerly enjoyed along with us. The service was quick and servers very kind. The owners have an impressive resume working in Michelin-star restaurants and world renowned bakeries which is reflected in theproficiency experienced here. We noticed quickly that the staff were eager and attentive to make sure we found everythingappetizing and up to standard. As it was. Quality experience! New favorite in Dayton area! Read more

Best sandwich ???? Seriously cute place, delicious looking desserts that I had no room for, you can get bread and fresh made... pasta to take home. Will definitely be back, I loved the corn sandwich. My mom got Shroom Raider which was a bit too spicy forher but she liked it. Read more

Outstanding. Ate here on our way to Cincinnati from Fairborn. Had a chicken sandwich and a steak sandwich, olive oil cake, and a... chocolate cookie. Everything was fabulous. Great flavors, fresh, light, prepared well. The restaurant is clean and bright andthe staff are all very helpful and friendly. I only wish we lived locally so we could come more often! Read more

Heard about their sandwiches and went here for lunch. The place had a nice decor and was clean. The staff were friendly and... polite. They had awesome fresh made pastas, bread and some desserts. I got the Bird Degree (4.5/5). The bread was amazing, crunchy and soft at the same time. The filling was nice and colorful. A good sandwich. But I paid $15 for one sandwich and thattoo during lunch time. I felt it was a tad bit expensive. But the place was great. Read more

An AMAZING experience. I didn?t even know this place existed in Dayton but it?s honestly a gem! The atmosphere is really upscale... and modern. Along with pasta, they make sandwiches, soups, salads, and desserts. All the food is prepared in a fancy manner anduses really unique, delicious ingredients. I?m a vegetarian and I felt comfortable because they have plenty of really deliciousvegetarian options available! I forget the exact name of the sandwich I personally ordered, but it was a popular mushroomsandwich and it was so good. Also, the prices aren?t really expensive, especially considering the amount and quality of food youreceive! I believe my big sandwich was close to 9 dollars and it was a VERY quality sandwich that filled me up. I?m really gladI found this place, I?m glad they?re in Dayton, it far exceeded my expectations, and I would highly recommend them to anyone! Read more

I will always love Grist. Fresh food, friendly service and unique flavors. Not too unique so that they scare you away though.... Such a cozy little sandwich and soup spot in downtown Dayton. Read more

The menu looks delicious and the desserts are! If presentation is the first thing that draws us toward food, then Grist knocks... it out of the park. The location is pleasant and bright, the interior looks beautiful and the staff couldn't be more welcoming. This is the type of place to bring your out of town friends and family for something good and something Dayton.
