Spent the weekend in Dawsonville and my buddy introduced me to this little restaurant. I was lucky enough to get one of their... biscuits for my sandwich and, being originally from rural Kansas, I can vouch that THIS is what a great breakfast biscuit andhash browns tastes like! I?ve only had lunch at Big Reds. This is by far the best cheesesteak in Dawsonville and probably any of the surrounding area. ... They take great care in making it and it shows. Up there with some of the steaks I?ve had in Philly. It?s worth the visit justfor this sandwich! Update: I had breakfast this morning and it was just as good as lunch! We were in the Dahlonega area looking for a breakfast place , and almost got discouraged because the restaurant was right next... to a gas station but DON?T BE , the place is so so good. The sausage gravy is some of the best I?ve had and the biscuits areperfectly flavored. Service was good too and they have a pretty wide selection of options. We were able to arrive just beforethey ran out of biscuits and it was around 10:30 am so you may wanna get there a little early if possible . Will definitely becoming back . Read more
My bacon, egg, and white American cheese biscuit was awesome. The bacon was thick and meaty. The biscuit was hand made and... fresh. The egg was broken open and cooked to order. And then I had a nana cream filled donut. The coffee was earthy and rich.All made by Big Red himself. I?ll be back. Read more
This place has REALY GOOD BISCUITS! Some better than others. My favorite is I get a chicken egg and cheese with honey butter... put on the biscuit! I was so excited to try this with my son and wanted to love it but filled with disappointment unfortunately. The biscuit itself... was pretty good but extremely salty and I didn?t like they put white cheese on the egg and cheese biscuit. The donuts would begood if they weren?t extremely dry, even with the filling. I haven?t tried lunch yet though. Read more
Breakfast was horrible. The sausage biscuit tastes like it really wants to taste like sausage but cant. Onion rings were also... bad. They tasted old. Got a chicken tender plate for my kids and they couldn't even eat more than one because it was so bad. Thefood tasted old and overly cooked. The bacon biscuit was ok but that was about it. Being greeted when your coming in the door sets the mood for the entire stay. The waitress/cashier was so sweet. Then, you look... to the right, as your placing your order and see all the delicious homemade donuts and goodies.. Your mouth automatically startswatering, I had to have a Cinnamon roll!
