We arrived at 5:30 and the restaurant was busy but many empty seats in all three areas. There were at least 4 waitresses plus a... guy busing tables, two workers in the bar area and someone working with the to-go orders. You seat yourself so we sat in theback where all middle row tables were open and a few others. It took ten minutes to get served. We placed our orders then withme asking for the baked ziti and a cannoli (which was the main reason we stopped) and my husband getting a calzone andlemonade. I got my salad and rolls that came with my pasta pretty quickly but it took another twenty minutes to get our drinkswhich we had to flag another waitress down to get them and my husband asked her for just water since we figured our food wouldbe coming and he wouldn?t get more than one refill. At 6:30 we were still waiting and we were told it should be coming. At 6:45we were told they only had one cook. At 7:00 we were told it was going in the oven. At this time the table beside us that camein half an hour later already had their calzone and pizza. At 7:10 my pasta came out on a cold plate and barely room temp pastawhich was soaking in watery sauce on the bottom of the plate. The two pieces of pasta I did eat were very chewy and overcooked. At this point we decided we were done and my husband went to find a manager to ask about leaving. He never did find amanager and the other staff were not ?out? so he finally got the attention of someone in the bar. His calzone ended up comingduring this time after 1hr 50min. The waitress was nice enough to not make us pay for my salad that I did actually eat and weleft everything else on the table when we left. We never did see a manager or even have an offer of anything else for our time, patience, or horrible experience. While my husband was trying to find someone to talk to he also saw several workers in thekitchen area in red shorts which means even if there were only one ?cook?, like we were told, there were man Read more
I've tried them 3 times now and the service is very slow. The servers seem to not be properly trained. My daughter is 3 and has... received her food last twice now and it's the easiest item ordered. Our food never comes out together which is very odd at arestaurant. I timed it our last visit and it took over 20 min. from when the first persons food was delivered to my daughterspaghetti and tomato sauce to be brought out and placed before her. The servers do not come back for refills. My husband neverreceived his refill after they took his cup, he sat there for over 30 min without his drink and the server just never returned. We eventually got up and just went to find the server to pay and leave at this point we were there for over an hour and thirtymin. We have a gift card and I will not be back to finish using it. The servers seem lost most the time and the confusion isclear when you are there and they don't know who has what table, the customers just sit there waiting till someone finallyarrives asking them if they have been helped. I heard the 4 tables next to us tonight all complaining about the serves theyreceived which is sad. Really is a mind blowing experience. I kept thinking it would get better but at this point I don't thinkit is going to happen. Read more
We are regulars here and we LOVE the food at Mama Mia's!!! Everything we have had is stellar! The owners are such sweet people... that take clearly great pride in their restaurant. Pro tip: when you come for dinner, sit in the bar area and have Tracy serveyou! We've always sat in the main dining room and missed the opportunity to be waited on by the best server in Tucker Countyuntil tonight! Read more
Good beer selection, huge food menu. I ordered a hot antipasto appetizer that was awesome. It was loaded with spicy shrimp,... sausage, clams and mussels and veggies and came with a bunch of garlic knots. Then I got a Momma's Special Calzone that wasdelicious. Read more

Mama Mia's is a family-friendly Italian-American restaurant in Canaan Valley. The menu is quite extensive. Entree portions are... generous, so bring your appetite. After dining here several times, I've discovered several favorites dishes and only a fewnot-so-favorite dishes. Chicken Cacciatore (3/5): Good, but it isn't the traditional preparation - the chicken is choppedbreast meat vs the traditional whole thigh, making the chicken dry. Eggplant a la Mama, Eggplant Parmigiana, and EggplantStacker (5/5): All excellent, and are served with a side of pasta of your choice with marinara sauce (also excellent). Eggplant"Rollatini" (4/5): While this is good, the eggplant isn't rolled like it should be. False advertising on this menu item. Get theeggplant parmigiana instead. Linguine w/White Clam Sauce (piccata sauce) (5/5): Excellent. Delicious garlic-butter sauce.Loaded with clam meat. Probably my favorite pasta entree. Spaghetti and Meatballs (3/5): Meatballs are made from scratch andare seasoned well. But they're tough, dense, and dry...either not enough breadcrumbs/milk in the meatball mixture or the kitchenovercooks them. Chicken Parmigiana (2/5): Chicken was dry and tough. Angel Hair w/Garlic and Oil (5/5): Excellent, especiallyif you like garlic. Penna Ala Vodka (5/5): Excellent. Just be sure to ask your server to tell the kitchen to go a little easyon the vodka sauce, otherwise you'll end up with penne soup. Sausage Cacciatore (3.5/5): The sausage is good, but the sauce isapplied with a very heavy hand, which overwhelms the dish to the point that it's soupy. All you taste is sauce. Shrimp FraDiavolo (3/5): Anything prepared "fra diavolo" should be spicy...this is not. The shrimp are large but slightly overcooked andrubbery. Penne Puttanesca (5/5): Excellent. Manicotti (5/5): Excellent. Stuffed Shells (5/5): Excellent. The herbed ricottafilling is delicious. Calamari (5/5): Light, crispy coating and tender on the inside Served with thei Read more
