Great little restaurant if you like Boba Tea, Asian desserts, and Taiwanese food. I'm half Vietnamese half Chinese, so I'm not... too familiar with this cuisine. But I really, really like the dishes, esp. the squid, jiajiaming (meat bean-paste sauce withchewy noodles), mushroom fish meatball soup, braised pork belly and rice, and beef wonton soup. My husband and I ate it fordinner last night, and returned again for lunch. We also got the delicious boba tea and sweet tofu-herbal jelly dessert. Thefood was not greasy. Hands down the best place for soup and fried chicken wings. The owner is very friendly and the food is always on point. I... religiously get the ginseng chicken noodle soup without the noodles. I've had it 25 times and it has never disappointed! Read more

I came here the other night and the food was good. However the way how they put all the food was not properly done. All the... pudding and fruit they put in the outside fridge and when I ordered my pudding, the lady came out and grab a frozen fruit put inon the top. Which it shocked me somehow. Stepping into the compact but whimsically decorated interior, you'll be greeted by fairy lights strung across the walls and... ample indoor seating. There is also limited outdoor seating on the patio. Staff were very friendly and recommended the handmadepurple yam with herbal jelly and boba when I asked about their specialty desserts. (The photos of pudding and jelly drew me in -it's quite rare to find such a shop locally!) I ordered take-out and did not wait long (<15 min) before my dessert was ready. $8got me a container lined with herbal jelly and delicately arranged boba pearls, unsweetened red beans, with those bouncy, chewyhousemade taro and sweet potato balls. It was just the right amount of sweetness (richer with the added creamer) and Iespecially enjoyed dunking the sweet potato balls into the syrup. But, the herbal jelly itself was too lightly flavored for mytastes and I felt the portion was not worth the cost. I must admit that Honey D Cafe is better known for its savory dishes, Inoticed many delighted customers ordering their beef rolls. We went on a Saturday night and it was busy but worth the wait. One of the ladies (who I am assuming was the owner) checked in... on us and made sure we were okay. She was super sweet and the girls working there were as well. My boyfriend and I are all theway from Elk Grove but will be sure to be stopping by to try more of their drinks and food! The food here was soooooo good! I went with my friends today and we ordered the Juicy Chicken Cutlet w/ Braised Pork Rice,... Popcorn chicken w/ White Rice, and Steamed Dumplings. Words cannot describe how happy I was with both the food and the service.The employees are very nice and care about their customer’s experience at their restaurant. We got the Taiwanese style fried chicken and pork rice plus the spicy beef rice noodle soup. The rice was very authentic and... reminded me of restaurants in Taiwan! We got the noodle soup in regular spice, but it was a tad bit spicy even for my friendthat regularly eats shin ramen. I would suggest getting small/mild spice if you're not super confident in your spice tolerance. Read more
