I always normally love this restaurant but tonight on a Saturday night I called the restaurant for a quick small takeout order... at 9:00 as the restaurant closes at 9:30 and I was advised that they've already cleaned and closed down the kitchen. Absolutely ridiculous place. They tried to charge me THREE dollars because I asked for no onions in my rice... 3 EXTRA dollars... to not add an ingredient. Sorry to say I will not be going back. Lately the food has not been as good as it use to be. I feel I need to give cooking... directions - like please don't burn the food. This week they delivered and I paid a generous tip. Size of soda was wrong andthey forgot the sauce for the Sweet & Sour Chicken my grandson ordered. They refused to redeliver and would only credit for theamount of the sauce!! That sauce makes the meal. I was told too bad and only way they would help would be for me to bring themeal back and pick up the sauce myself. I have gone to this restaurant for over 30 years. This is the second owner to myknowledge - not going back again. You would think that in a time when things are not good, following a pandemic, you would doall you could to strengthen your business - not send it sailing good-bye!!! I am a big advocate when it comes to helping smallbusinesses in my community. This place can't seem to help itself - why bother overlooking their horrible customer servicepractices. The food was horrible. It was greasy, overcooked rice, and grease tasted used and old. After eating a small portion my stomach... began to hurt and I couldn?t digest properly from the old grease obviously. I left a star because they were nice. Read more
The food was ready on time which is why I didn?t leave 1 star. Rice and my general tso?s chicken were both dry. Also ordered... chicken and broccoli - not even sure if it was chicken in it and tasted horrible. Waste of $25 for two meals as they were boththrown away. Read more
Wow?.. I normally don?t leave a negative review to any place I dine in. However, I wanted to share my experience for anyone who... may face this in the future. I went into China Island because I think their food is great, but today will be the last time theyget any business from me. I went in there and politely asked if they had Apple Pay. Simple question right? Instead of a polite,?no.? I felt degraded as I was asked a few times back to back, like I was dumb, if ?I couldn?t read the sign.? Her voice wasraised and she was pointing as she kept asking this. . I simply wanted to know one thing. Even after this barbaric behavior Istill said thank you. How dare anyone be so disgusting and disrespectful over one question? Your food is good, but there arebetter places where they greet you with a smile instead of across the restaurant or with an an attitude. Sorry, but take yourbusiness elsewhere. I would?ve given them cash but I was so appalled by the response, as well as embarrassed because there wereother patrons there, I simply left. Work on your customer care. It?s awful.
