Walked over from the hotel and was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. The prices were a bit more than I expected but... all things considered it was a good meal. We were able to dine outside with a view of the parking lot and enjoy the warmevening. I had fish tacos and they were done very well and made for a tasty dinner. Read more
I decided to try out Granite City after a failed attempt to get a reasonable reservation time for Texas Roadhouse. We started... off with the pretzel sticks which were phenomenal. The dough was warm and soft, not too salty, but not lacking flavor either. The cheese is more of a creamy sharp cheddar while the stone ground mustard reminds me of Boetjes with more texture. Idefinitely preferred the stone ground mustard over the cheese sauce. For an entree I decided to go out on a limb and get theShrimp Boil. I tell you what, it was fantastic. It was packed with flavor! There are A LOT of potatoes with this dish, so ifthat's not your thing I would go with something else. The shrimp and corn were cooked perfectly, I'll definitely get it again ifI have the chance. It wasn't until after I ordered that I saw an all-you-can-eat catfish special on Friday nights, I'll have tocome back for that as well. My son got the alfredo noodles and french fries from the kids menu. He gave 2 thumbs up and inhaledthem in just a couple minutes. Either he was very hungry or they were actually good, he recommends them. We followed up with akid's sundae, it came with Hershey's chocolate on the side that was greatly appreciated! I do have one negative for this trip, however. On a relatively busy Friday night I expected food to take awhile, and it did. Around 30-35 minutes for the entrees and15 for the pretzels. I don't know if there was some miscommunication in the kitchen or what happened, but my waffle fries Iordered just to try out came out cold. Not just a little cold, but cold to the touch. They were really bad. With that being saidthough, everything else made up for it. I definitely recommend giving this place a shot if you haven't already! Read more
No clue how this place is still in business. The service was good but they clearly had an uphill climb with the horrible food !!... We had a table of 10 and one person liked their food. Wasn’t cooked properly and it wasn’t good at all. Several of ourguests never even got their full meal missing sides.. Absolutely will never ever come back here Read more
What can I say? Well, great service, that's friendly and loves what they're doing. Great food, the Nachos are stupendous, bring... more than one person to eat all of them. The fare here is top notch. And the place is always clean, I mean the whole place. Forfun you can grab a seat near the kitchen and watch if you want to. It's nice to know that it's the same as the Cedar Rapidsestablishment. Main complaint is my order being wrong on my takeout. I can't eat fries. I specifically said no fries. I want green beans. I'm... diabetic. Then the ribs were totally over cooked and drowning in sauce that took forever to get off. Falling off the bone mushis not how ribs are done. Won't waste any time at any of their locations. Read more
