Long have I seen Chanoey's in downtown Portland in Dartmouth in the old Subway, and long have I avoided it. Their advertised... fare, soup, sandwiches, pasta salads, etc, sounded like the exact opposite of the sort of thing I would be willing to part timewith. The years I've wasted. The decorum is cafe-like, but tidy, and everything was new. I don't normally comment on theatmosphere of the place, but Chanoey's was a nice place to sit and eat. Cramped, but nice. Having exactly one thing off theirmenu, the Montreal smoked meat panini, I can wholeheartedly endorse this place. It is a contender for the best sandwich I'veever had, even better than that Dartmouth classic, Kel's Deli. I was bummed out about paying like 15$ plus tip for a sandwich,but blown away when I got it. An absolutely enormous behemoth that had to be cut in half barely fit into the takeout box. Therye was buttery and moist, and the meat was thick with a little bit of edge fat. Cute little place on a beautiful street in Dartmouth. Would be a cherry on top if they had seating arrangement in patio as well.... We had greek salad and chicken alfredo pasta. I loved the pasta sauce, perfect creaminess. I would have rated 5 stars but 1star goes off because they don?t offer any drinks, apart from some canned soda drinks, which in my opinion is just a trade-off.I would love to see them offer lemonades, or shakes. Really good beef stroganof. Plenty of mushrooms and beef with a really thick creamy gravy, not clumpy at all. Awesome rich... noodles. Very satisfying and filling. Wickedly good garlic bread. Not too greasy with lots of garlic flavour. A very heartymeal. Just had the lasagna, decent portion with a good sauce. Their house pasta dish with pork belly is utterly awesome! Read more
Ordered the Bacon & Meatball Blue cheese pasta and it was amazing! Wanted to try something new with the blue cheese sauce - the... food came out hot and quickly. Would recommend to anyone wanting some delicious pasta. Read more
Fantastic Pasta!! So many options, delicious flavours, well sized portions and very fresh tasting. I recommend anyone to come... here for a bite to eat. Also the retro tunes is an added plus. Had an order of Chicken Alfredo with Extra Bacon & Extra Garlic Bread. It was EXTRA DELICIOUS. This is a cute little place by... Downtown Dartmouth, bright and clean. The workers are really friendly and provide great customer service. 11/10 would go backagain!
