Kitchen was really slow. They weren't busy at all but it took more than 30 minutes to get our food after we ordered. 30+ minutes... for chicken strips and a seafood combo (small crab cakes, and fried shrimp and cod??? Wait staff said it was taking long becauseof the chicken strips. They must have had to catch that chicken. Read more
My salmon was great. Bread was over cooked with promises of fresh bread that never came. My cousin's chicken strips were... terrible. Hard, very much over fried. They were out of the potato soup and was told after we received our meal. Our server wasvery apologetic and said the manager was making more. We received it in two " to go" bowls when we were ready to pay. Theserver was ran to death by my cousin so I gave him an easy go. The server continued to apologize till we left. Watch theprices!!. On the "specials" menu there 2as a $14.99 "pick two entrees". It was an additional $4.00 for the up grade on primeentrees. Salmon was on the $4.00 up grade which made it a 19.99$ meal cause you only could pick "ONE" prime entree. HOWEVER ONTHE REGULAR MENU THE WAS THE SAME 6OZ SALMON FOR $14.99 same sides and so on. We decided we wanted a fried chicken salad so we stopped at the O'Charley's in Daphne, Alabama for lunch. The restaurant was not... busy and we were seated immediately. Our server took our drink orders and returned shortly thereafter with our drinks and twodinner rolls. A few minutes later we placed our lunch orders. The rolls were apparently left over from earlier as they were dryand obviously not fresh. Our salads, however, were fresh and very good and exactly what we have come to expect fromO'Charley's. We asked for a couple additional rolls and the ones which were delivered were brown, overcooked and rather tough.Though the salads were good, this obviously was not a good bread day. This was our first visit and we were extremely disappointed in our experience. We arrived (party of 7) when they opened for... lunch. Only one table was occupied in the dining room. ?Hostess? said it would be a short wait to seat us so nice she stated she?was alone?. After a 35 minute wait we were seated. While waiting in the lobby over our wait time seven other dinner groups werealso then waiting for a table. No seating for them to wait and several of them walked out. Once seated we noticed we all hadblack plastic knives and forks in plastic bags. ( what you would expect in take out orders). No silverware! We asked fornapkins and were told they were out. The server brought us a stack of cocktail napkins from the bar. Although very polite ourwaitress kept apologizing for items on the menu she did not have answers for our questions. Two of us ordered burgers and weretold they did have and mayonnaise or mustard although later on individual packets arrived. 4 stars for food quality. 2 for service. Slow weeknight at around 8 pm and our food took forever. Had to ask for our salads... after the entrees came. Slow drink refills. Seemed like the servers were just hanging out. Our server was pleasant, but slowwith everything. That being said, the Louisiana Sirloin was one of the best sirloins ever.
