This place is my new favorite for the area. It?s upscale, cozy and the food is divine. I always look forward to dinner... there. Please check them out when you in are the area.. or just make it a date night adventure to a new place. You will not bedisappointed ????. The staff really makes the experience memorable. As a business owner, I highly admire how everything in therestaurant was well thought out- from the menu, the aesthetics to the outside seating with gentle air to keep bugs away whileyou are eating. WOW! Embarrassingly bad customer service. We came back here to give this restaurant a second chance after reading the owner's... response to my previous review in March. We arrived just before 7PM on Tuesday July 12 and were seated immediately. We thenwaited 1 hour and 40 minutes for our food, which never came. After literally 100 minutes of waiting, with the waitress ignoringus, I asked the waitress what was going on, and how much longer would our food be? She said that she had just checked on it andit wouldn't be coming soon - our ticket was "somewhere in the middle" of the list of orders. We could not wait anymore; 1 hourand 40 minutes is completely inexcusable and utterly frustrating. We had to go home. The waitress brought the bill, we paid forour appetizers and one unsweetened tea, and left. There were so many opportunities here to resolve the situation, and thisrestaurant chose NONE of them. The waitress could have brought us some bread while we waited, she could have brought our salads,she could have talked to us and kept us informed. Never once did the manager come over to talk to us or apologize and providesome customer service. Instead, the waitress just shrugged and charged us full price for our apps and one tea. After all of thatwaiting, that small bill should have been comped. But instead the waitress charged us full price for the terrible experience,got her 20% tip, and we went home, hungry and frustrated. At that stage, it was nearly 9PM, so there really was no option todine somewhere else. We went to bed without dinner. Thanks, King Cropp! Not only will we never come back here, but we'll be sureto spread the story of our terrible experience here. Really, this is just bad, flippantly non-caring customer service. 1stReview in March 2022: Lovely place, excellent service, and really wanted to like the food but it's extremely salty. One of the best restaurants in town. The truffle tots are incredible, as were all of the side dishes. The fried catfish was... probably the best I've ever had. It was so moist, flaky, mild with a perfect crispy fried costing that was thin, and not greasyat all. I highly recommend this place. Read more

Chef never disappoints. We are pleased any time we get to have dinner with King Cropp. The new location is great. They've done... a great job customizing an old house to suit the needs of the restaurant. Parking is much improved. Darcy and Chris still makeyou feel as welcome as a guest in their home. Read more
We decided to try here for a small party mid-week, and it had great seating options. The pros: There were plenty of options,... and we tried a little bit of many different dishes. The salmon and lemon aioli was delicious, the truffle fries were good andplentiful and the mac and cheese was delicious, as was the cabbage. The creme brulee was definitely the highlight of ourvisit-it was delicious! The wait staff was attentive and pleasant. The cons: We did find, however, a lot of the dishes had thesame flavoring, such as the country chicken and the cajun shrimp, which at its base tasted like a buffalo sauce less thespiciness. The children's chicken, the adult calabash, and adult size country chicken all used the same small breaded tendersjust prepared differently. The calabash was not a traditional style calabash imo, just a lightly fried tender which wasdisappointing. The sides were also, though nicely prepared, very small. With each plate totalling around 18-20$ a plate, theamount and quality for many of the dishes wasn't there for us, which was a little disappointing because it looked to have a lotof promise. Read more
