I stop at the custard cup every time I'm in Danville. Its a little walk-up-to-the-window-and-order type of place with no indoor... seating. The employees have all been friendly & helpful. Their sundaes & chocolate sodas are very good. I appreciate thatthey use hot fudge on the sundaes instead of the cheaper option of chocolate syrup that many stores use. They also give you anoption of which type of nuts to have on the sundae instead of just slopping on the old standby of peanuts. Their prices aren'tbad, it's just that their serving sizes are a bit on the small side for the drinks. There was a lot of air space between thetop of the cup & my chocolate soda. It's a nice break on a hot summer day & definitely worth a stop. One thing, though, makesure they've given you everything in your order. Good custard, got the "black and white", which is vanilla with marshmallow sauce and hot fudge. It was good, however very rich.
Great ice cream/custard for a great price! My mom is a Danville native and whenever we drive through in the summer this is a... must! Happy that it is still there and providing new memories! Read more
NEVER again! I grew up eating here, I just got 2 scoops of vanilla, 2 scoops of lemon in cups. Didn't even fill the cup HALF WAY... and looked like ONE scoop per cup.. No wonder they REMOVED their prices sign. Straight greed, $7 for TWO scoops of ice cream..GTFOOH, the giy in front of me paid $7 for a quart.. so $16 for a half a gallon lol $100 says they WILL end up like ROYALDOUGHNUT. It's Danville..not downtown Champaign or Indy.. $7 for 2 scoops of ice cream.. lol Read more
5 stars for the ice cream and nostalgia. I remember growing a few blocks south of the Custard Cup. I mowed a large yard. Took... me all day of pushing the lawnmower. When I got paid I would walk up to the Custard Cup and get a strawberry shake. Hit thespot. That was almost 60 years ago. I left the area 45 years ago and just moved back. We came this evening because it was lastday of their season. I had a vanilla cone, it was good and brought back a lot of good memories. An all around 5 starexperience. Read more
Really enjoyed the custard. Didn't care for ordering through the little window near the drive through, or having to pay cash... because the machine was down. But I had a SnowStorm and it was very good. Read more
Review Date: July 4th, 2016 Voted the Best Ice Cream in Illinois in 2015! My 5/5 Rating would have to agree. A friend... recommended Jarling?s and it has been on my list for awhile. They have only two locations; Danville, IL and Champaign, IL. I amusually never around these areas, so it has taken me awhile for my travels to take me near Jarlings? and good gosh, it was worththe drive! I have mostly visited ?ice cream? shacks but this one seems to use custard in their ice cream. Not sure what thatentails, but good god, was this ice cream fantastic. Easily places in the Top 5 of my Ice Cream list. If you love ice cream, youowe it to yourself (and your family? and friends) to try this place! Read more
