Reviews for The HandleBar in Dallas Center, IA
Tasty Iowa burger, love the derailed fries and a super friendly waitperson.
While the outside setting is enjoyable and the beer offerings are good, our food Order came a full 55 minutes after our order... was made. We aren?t big beer drinkers so we won?t be back anytime soon. Read more
Was there last Thursday lunch. Flies, wasps and bees greeted us at the table. 6 in all. 3 ordered the burgers and complained that... McDonald's would have been better and cheaper!! Do not recommend. We were seated inside the building. Read more
Fantastic food and friendly service. I recommend trying their homemade root beer on tap.
Pretty insane how downhill this place has gone in just one season. Absolutely the best spot possible for great drinks, great... food, and atmosphere last year. Now, the kitchen just randomly closes, or it?s well over an hour wait. The staff is the mostdiscourteous bunch that acts like it?s a bother to serve you. Our most recent experience, the lady looked at us like we werespeaking a different language when we asked for their signature drink, Handlebar Shandy, which she proceeds to make with BuschLight instead of the Iowa beer they usually make it with, which they were out of. Instead of telling us that before making thedrinks, she just assumes this is acceptable, despite it being an entirely different drink missing half the ingredients. I stillbelieve the owners intentions are in the right place of having an amazing restaurant in a time where good help is impossible tofind, but I?d gladly pay more for the product if it meant never having to deal with that server ever again. 1/10/2021. Finally got there for Sunday Brunch. B&G super flavor with lots of neat in the gravy, skillet was another winner and... the French Toast is crazy good. 6/1/2020 This little town establishment never disappoints 6/22/2019 Tried The HandleBar inDallas Center last night. It's new so they have kinks to iron out for servers, but considering how busy it got, they did prettydarn good. It's a small space, tables inside and on the covered patio. Only got pictures of the Strip and Philly, but ourparty also had the pulled pork sandwich and the burger. Everyone was very happy with their selection. I traded my pickle forthe marinated veggies that came with the steak, they were fabulous. I would order them as a side if they are available thatway. Son-in-law's steak was cooked perfectly, Philly sandwich had lots of flavor, although I would have liked more onion, sowill know to ask next time. Husband's Pulled Pork Sammie had good flavor and was topped with a tasty slaw and our guest, saidhis burger was maybe the best he's eaten. Fries were crispy on the outside and soft inside, and nicely seasoned. Bottom line, give them a week or 2 to iron out kinks and I think you will be pleasantly surprised at a small town eatery located on the biketrail. Read more
This place was an awesome find. The flavor profile of the food was amazing, the craft brew selection was plenty, the service... staff was so upbeat and friendly. The "backyard seating" was an awesome touch (especially during covid to allow socialdistancing). Yes, the price point is a bit higher but the food quality And style for sure make it worth every dollar. We willmost defineatly be back. Read more
