Village Burger Bar is nestled in the West Village shopping center, which is perfectly lit at night. With lights on every tree... and draped above the streets, it truly is comforting sitting outside at Village Burger Bar. The restaurant has a moreneighborhood bar vibe than what I expected given the West Village shopping center itself. It has a large menu of appetizers, burgers, paninis, and more to satisfy your hunger. The restaurant has 10 or so beers on tap and also some local beers on tap. Ihad the a local Blood and Honey beer from Revolver Breeing Co., which was nice a cold. The bartender did leave a bigger headwhen pouring the pint, so I asked him to top it off again before we paid. The Dougie was my choice of burger, with cheddar, lettuce, bacon, onions, an egg and some secret sauce. Very good burger, cooked medium. The bun was light, warm, and crispy. Ilike that they butter the bun and grill it for the crisp and that it isn't all that doughy. My wife had the chicken pestopanini. She wasn't that hungry so she didn't eat much of the panini, but said it wasn't bad. Chicken was juicy and the sauce wasgood. She wished there was more pesto sauce on the panini though. The fries....if you like fries, you'll like the fries here. They are the thin pencil fries that are just small enough for you to have to grab a handful to actually eat them. Ask for thespicy ketchup too that rivals Whataburgers spicy ketchup (I think it's better) . The downfall of this place is that there was alot of trash in and around the patio area later in the night. We ate around 11:00 an hour before their close time. Read more

This place was really great. It was affordable and had good options. I wanted to write a review though for the staff because... they were super helpful and made it a great experience. I can't have butter and most places tend to toast burger buns withbutter. It's always an awkward question to ask but I do and then places usually still end up putting butter on anyways and I getsick. So I'm often wary of ordering burgers but I asked them this question and they were very informative and had no problemadjusting to what I asked and made me feel very confident that I didn't have to worry. And then my meal came out perfectly andit was so good. I'll definitely come back because now I feel confident that I can get a burger easily made here without butter.:) Read more

While in uptown a week ago, a friend and I wanted burgers so we stopped by here. We got our orders in fast and the food didn?t... take long to arrive. I found the quality of the food to be great and for the price they charge I really can?t complain, theportion sizes were perfect too. Overall if you want burgers in uptown this is a great spot! This place has excellent burgers! I had the Swiss burger with sweet potato fries, and everything tasted great. It was also... cooked perfectly. The only thing I didn't like was that they only have single restrooms, so when it is crowded it could be await. Read more
