Met friends for dinner. Food was solid. We had the shrimp app and spinach artichoke dip. Spicy fried chicken sandwich was good... although I could have used a little more spice. Beer selection was OK - only four local beers on 20 taps. I enjoyed Peticolas &Manhattan Project. Would love to see more from Lakewood, Vector, Celestial, Oak Highlands, etc. instead of the BEKregional/national brands. Finally, service was really good. We were lucky to be served by Breezy. She was attentive withoutbeing pushy and super friendly. I?ll definitely ask to be seated in her section when we return. Read more

If you can get past all the ?Karens? in the reviews and realize this wasn?t the place for them, you?ll see that this is a great... place for happy hour! Not only does the daily happy hour offer great deals, the food here is top tier! I have been here onmultiple occasions and have tried something different each time on the specialty menu! UPDATE As planned, we returned to the Thirsty Lion in Preston Hollow to try different entrees. Much improved from our first... visit! To start, we had the Artichoke Spinach Dip, this was very good; I recommend ordering the full portion instead of theHappy Hour portion (the latter is pretty small for 2 people). For mains, I had the Jalapeno Pepper Jack Burger with bacon added;the burger was perfectly cooked and flavors of jalapeno and pepper back were well balanced. My wife had the Spicy Fried ChickenSandwich; also quite good and not too spicy; it is a large sandwich so my wife couldn't finish it - I tried a bite and thechicken was well prepared, the buttermilk batter was crispy and full of flavor. For desert we had the Deep Dish Chocolate PorterBrownie, this was outstanding, definitely a favorite desert. I'm leaving the review at 4 stars only because the service wasslow. It was not too busy during our visit and we were seated promptly - but the drinks took a long time to come out... to thepoint that I felt like we should order drinks ahead of finishing our first one because it was taking so long. But again, it is agood place and we will return to try more items from their menu. ---Original review--- Nice gastropub. Really impressed withthe service. Food was a little bland. I had the fish and chips. The fry batter was oily and missing some crunch, but the fishwas well cooked and flaky. My wife had the Southwestern chicken salad, it was a disappointing choice. No flavor, the dressingwas sitting at the bottom of the dish. Perhaps a little more careful preparation would make a difference. For desert we had theapple crumble, this was quite good, maybe the best dish of the day. I also had the Texas beer flight, it was a nice tasting ofTexas beers. Went in last night for dinner. Exceeded my expectations! My waitress was really on top of it. Knew the menu well. I had a bbq... cheddar burger. I think it changed my life! So good! My bf had Romano chicken and cleaned his plate. The vibe was cool. Verywelcoming and so open concept. Can?t wait for cooler weather so we can sit on the patio! Huge! Managers were visible and visitedwith us which is not what I normally experience at most restaurants. We will be back for sure. Read more
