Fantastic local bar and restaurant. They serve the best fried shrimp in Dallas. All of the food is very good. Lenny is one of... the owners and he really wants his customers to have a great experience at Shuck'n Jive. The regulars are friendly. Theatmosphere reminds me of "Cheers." Bill is a long-time server and a true professional. David is a bartender and worked atPappadeaus for over 17 years. Just a wonderful guy. And Shuck'n Jive is also an excellent sports bar as well. Placed an order over the phone. Person didn't ask for my name. Ordered Fried Mushrooms and Fish Combo. It wasn't a Fish Combo.... Maybe next time put a name to the order. Didn't order Jambalaya. Not coming back. I wished I never gave the Bartender a tip. Read more
Stopped in here completely at random. Was staying in a nearby hotel and was looking for somewhere that was open late.. Ordered... a poboy and a beer. Kicked back and just took in the atmosphere, wasnt really where I thought Id end up for the day but it was adecent experience. Food came out after not too long, and was pretty decent. No complaints.. Old bar/ club. Live band. Food n drinks in one side. Most items are good. The fried fish is not one of them. It was pretty tho.... Memphis club/ lounge on the other. Most bands are good. The band this night was terrible. Enough drinks and you don't notice.Parking is good. Prices good. Great staff. Read more
When we walked in, we were told "this is a smoking bar, but the food here is phenomenal" and that was 100% accurate. Everything... everyone in our party tried was fantastic, no complaints. The chicken fried pork chop was recommended as the best option, andit is so good, you might like it even if you don't normally like pork chops. The grilled oysters are also top notch, but if youneed a less adventurous option, the cheese fries have an excellent queso on there that will please the pickiest ofeaters. First, this is a dive bar that serves food. No prob with that, but just be aware and set your expectations. Oysters were ok.... Smallish. The cocktail is definitely different...its not the typical ketchup based sauce. Different but good. Service was ok.The bartender has to do the shucking, and apparently he doesn't like it. But that is ok i guess. They have music from the 70'sand 80's playing. Its ok. Would not be be ky go to place. Read more
The food is delicious and the garlic bread is crazy good. Our waitress was knowledgeable and funny. Definitely will be going... back. The atmosphere is smoky ????, so if you have breathing issues, order you good to go. Read more
