UPDATE: Honestly, they could have avoided the 1-star review by not putting me on blast on Instagram/FB and implying that I'm... racist for saying their food is overpriced(which it is). Apparently, Chef Reyna Duong has quite a reputation for this kind ofthing and I guess I struck a nerve. Anyhow, I was being kind so let me explain; I ordered what the person at the windowrecommended, "how the chef eats it," according to them. The *báNh mì* (no side) was $18-19(not $12.75) which I happily paidfor along with an additional $40-something worth of stuff. So to say that the food is expensive really just means that it wasn'tTHAT great. I try really hard not to compare restaurants in my reviews but I would be perfectly happy paying $20 for bánh mìat QB(lucky for me it's 1/5th of that). What I had here was just a cheap knockoff at Gordon Ramsay prices despite using the samedelicious bread. Also, "too authentic," which is to say that, "not everyone likes that stuff." Nobody is"Asian/white-splaining" anything or saying that the food is or isn't authentic. The owner took one look at me and made all kindsof assumptions. According to the Yelp/Google reviews I'm not even the only person saying that the food isn't stellar, or thatit's expensive so I wonder what made MY review stick out. What ever could it be?! Maybe the raisin casserole on my breath? Imay not be Vietnamese but like many of your patrons I do know how to eat. If you can't handle an honest review maybe consider adifferent profession. With that said, I liked the idea of the French baguette for dipping inthe curry. Seriously good food. Quality ingredients prepared with detail resulting in amazing experience every time. I compare all other... spring rolls to there and none come close! The curry is great and so are the chef specials. I also enjoy that they partner withother restaurants to bring in new treats so I can try new things that happen to meet their standards as well. Heard about this place and wanted to see what the sandwiches were all about. Definitely check their hours here and their site.... Entrance is around back in the patio area. The staff is attentive and diverse, thank you for the hospitality. A but on thepricey side but worth it, there?s also board games to play while you wait. Read more
A hag of a location but flavor is anything but ugly. Amazing curry with deep flavor and spiced just right.
Brought my out-of-town friend here because we just love the story of this humble restaurant. I FINALLY got to try out this place... and the experience was just so loving and thoughtful- we got to meet Chef Reye and Sang who are just full of true wonderfulpersonality, and the front staff, who helped us passionately with our order decision, and another staff who helped us take agroup picture in front of the mural. We shared everything (ginger tofu spring roll, Vietnamese pork sausage banh mi, and thechicken curry). Everything were rich in flavor- and I?m still thinking about the taste and texture of the curry as I?m writingthis. Also ordered the hibiscus iced coffee and the coconut iced coffee (they?re right- still delicious even if you?re not a fanof coconut). 1st time trying. I wasn't to sure if they were open because I couldn't find the entrance (It's actually around the back). The... food was just okay. I was really expecting more because it is a bit pricey. They also have a limited food menu and sell beer andwine. I thought it was pretty cool that they had board games set out for their customers. I was really enjoying the vibe ofthe music and the cool breeze yesterday, but it was interrupted by a homeless man propositioning me to join him in the bathroomand to take me home. He totally killed my vibe. Other than that the owners are very polite and attentive. I may give themanother try at a later date. Read more
Super! Amazing banh mi. Everything was fresh. The chef was so kind and suggested her favorite way for the chicken banh mi with... fried eggs and it was dynamite! Plenty of choices for vegetarians or vegans too. Read more
Loved the atmosphere, the quality and freshness of the food! Everything was made fresh so understand that it would take a minute... to get it and the chef let us know about the wait as well. Very clean outdoor eating area. I look forward to coming back andtrying new things since I only tried the spring roll and a jackfruit drink. Read more
