I am born and raised in Hawaii. We know Asian food and this is far from it. The California roll is refrigerated rice, which... makes it taste bad. The "shrimp tempura" is just small pieces of shrimp fried in some sauce. Tempura means the shrimp issupposed to have a light, crispy batter and be deep fried. The only thing decent in the bento box I got was the gyoza. Itshould come with a side of sauce, but it was the only truly authentic item in the whole dish. Out of all my choices to eat, Imade the wrong one. I'm very disappointed. These days are all about authenticity. Please research before putting food out of anethnicity you don't know about. Canned tuna in the spicy tuna roll??? Really?!

This place used to be good.. not anymore. Now the flavor is very weak and bland, the portion is small, and the veggies are... stale. They can?t get their steamed rice right either. Cannot recommend. Read more

I had the basic teriyaki (double portion) on fried rice & mixed veggies. Cost was higher than in the past (~$12). Chicken... portion, albeit 'doubled', was noticeably small and mostly luke warm. I noticed they had pulled the chicken from a pile on theside of the grill which probably contributed to the temperature issue. The containers they are using today are smaller than theones they had used previously (pre-pandemic) and this may have accounted for the smaller portion as well. Additionally, theyliterally filled it with fried rice which didn't help things. The fried rice was truly tasteless and everything seemed overlyoily. I had enjoyed this place in the past. Came here on a visit to Northpark, and it's a solid portion of Japanese food at a solid price. You will not leave hungry; they... give lots of rice, my only suggestion is to add more sauce to each bowl considering how much rice you can cover. Read more
