This is our place almost every Friday. Ruben the manager is the best. The service is top notch. The drinks are phenomenal, best... drinks ever. A great Mexican restaurant my family has been wanting to try. Love the dim lighting and atmosphere, good chips and salsa, and... the cups of pozole we had as an appetizer. But when our dinner came, the server just brought 3 plates for my family and didn'tbring mine. Now that is something I heavily detest when dining with family and/or a big party. It is not fair for ANYONE to beleft out to watch their party eat and enjoy their meals. Then after any amount of time when the server finally brings the onewho didn't get his/her meal now has to be the one who gets watched eating. That is an embarrassingly hurtful and sadexperience. But that's what happened to me on our only visit to this Meso Maya. I had to wait nearly ten minutes until I finallygot my plate. I had the chicken enchiladas verdes, and it was good. Fantastic food, even better service! Genaro and his son were phenomenal at serving me in no time. I ordered salmon al cocon and... Oaxaca cocktail. The rice in the main dish was perfectly prepared, creamy yet not too heavy, the veggies were just the same,neither undercooked nor overcooked, which can be the case with this in a lot of the restaurants. Salmon was just as perfect. Nottoo dry, not too heavy/oily, and was very tender and the sauce atop was perfectly fitting. I loved my experience here. BothGenaro's were very friendly and the place was clean and decor and lighting was very pleasant too. I definitely recommend thisplace 100% and will be back some time when I'm in Dallas! ???? Simple summary: We ate and already we want to know when can we come back?!?!? Our were in the general area after the Dallas... Arboretum and my wife wanted Mexican. We took Google recommendations for a lunch stop, and wow this did not disappoint!!Needless to say, our lunch entrées were absolutely knock-your-socks off! My wife had the Veggie Budin (with the to-die-forcreamy tomatillos sauce) and I had a bowl of the Pozole Verde with amazingly huge chunks of chicken. Best find about the Pozoleis that I couldn't finish it and it was almost even better cold (on the hot day). I might try and order gallons next timearound!! Both of these flavors left of wondering when we're coming back to try everything else on the menu!!! Other notes: Wealso enjoyed an app of ceviche - which we both thought was nice(ish) tasting, and sort of a disappointment compared to the picswe'd seen from the dinner plating (from a messy plating and much smaller stack). From a flavor standpoint it missed also justdidn't hit mid grade as compared to other ceviche in either of our books. I can't forget to mention that service was reallysolid! We had one guy who was running everything for everyone outside and multiple others were coming out to help and chip in asa team. Everyone was so awesome and I hope they all know that they are all very much appreciated and loved for what theydo! This is not a convenient restaurant for us to get to as we live in North Dallas, however I think that I will now findexcuses to find ways to get down here (especially if I can order that Budin sauce and get cold Pozole).
