This was my first visit and I was impressed! It reminder me of the Piccadilly from home but better. The options and cleanliness... were awesome but what made the entire visit right was our waiter, Derrick/Derek. He was phenomenal! He anticipated our needs tothe point where I was honestly shocked! I've been to several boujie restaurants and NONE of them could hold any kind of candleto his kindness, courtesy and high attention to details. We will return. It was a great experience. Read more
So I have been eating at Lubys for many years here in Dallas. Even during the pandemic the location on Midway Rd was open. Today... I went and got two dinners. One with CF Steak and one with CF Chicken. They were both very good. The sides were very good aswell. Got two pieces of Lemon Icebox pie and it was just horrible. Not one hint of lemon and it didn?t appear to be made witheagle brand milk either. I have bought whole Lemon Icebox pies at the holidays and they were most reliable and evenspectacular. Just like home made. I will not be purchasing any more pie by the slice or a whole pie. The taste was just not fitto eat. Was most disappointing. Obviously the NEW owners did NOT keep all the recipes. What a shame. Just ruined the ending ofa very good meal. Read more
Could have been better. Key Lime pie was awful, silverware were dirty. Although the price was a little steep for the quality of... the food, the food was just OK. But this is not Southern food, idk what its a mixture of!! Don't eat the veggies, as they areovercooked and tasteless. We had to exchange them for rice. The rice was superb!! Read more
Online delivery order.. I ordered Chicken Fried Chicken with mashed potatoes an cabbage! Get my order an they sent me a huge old... dry piece of chicken breast! Very disappointed! I paid my money with the delivery up charge, To not even receive the correctfood! Smdh So I?m stuck trying to eat an old dried chicken for dinner instead of what I ordered an paid for! I had not been to Luby's in years but had a random desire to go today. I was very impressed by the great selection and the... recommendations by Maria T. I enjoyed the salmon and all of the sides were great plus they offer a military discount. I willdefinitely have to go back! Read more
Wow, Luby's has changed! I was hard-pressed to find a location still open after Covid-19 nearly sounded the death knell for all... cafeterias. The Farmers Branch site has never looked better with fresh upholstery and new tile floors. With the addition of fourbig screen televisions and the Pet Shop Boys " West End Girls" playing softly on the sound system, it made for a relaxing diningexperience. I got here just 5 minutes after they opened and beat the lunch crowd. I had the Baked Almondine on the LuAnn platterwith spinach and cheesy vegetable rice casserole. It took a lot of willpower to resist those delicious pies they had on display.Maybe next trip. I dined for just under $13. and that included the tip. The staff was friendly and the bathroom spotless. Went there Sat. Dec. 4th took a friend who was visiting from out of town, who loved going there the past 7 years.. It has gone... Down hill. Kids running around without no regards of elderly or others walking with trays. I told server to ask the parents toask the kids to be considerate the two parents eye balled me and sent kids over to our area to be even more loud. Unruly,undisciplined kids running around like they are outside reinacting a Lord of Flies movie. Parents were just allowing them todisturb other patrons. Mgmt didn't do anything even after I asked them to tell them to stop running so fast they nearly ran intoa guy carrying 4 drinks. What happened to clean and safe environment. Sweet tea was good.. Tables nasty and food wasdisgusting. Several Dirty tables and the workers just walked past a manager should have been out there cleaning. the old mgmtwould never have allowed this. But it's over for Luby's they won't get any money from me. My friend asked for Angus steak itwas a hamburger patty made to look like steak. LOL they must think people are idiots or too unrefined to know the difference.Mac and cheese was yucky. Rice nasty. Carpet made my shoes stick . We sat on area near restrooms one table hadn't been cleaned at all. Lubys socks. It should be shut down. I once loved this.place . NO Pies, Cake Slices like before. You can't select Kalesalad or toppings for salad. Food was NASTY! Rice undercooked... no napkins the gave us restroom paper towel from roll. Theylong term workers who were there for years are GONE! New ones DO NOT CARE. floor is sticky. Do not take friends, family youvalue there. it's not the same. Embarassing. It's lost it's THUNDER and it's on LIFE support. Total TRASH such a shame. Myfriend loved to visit and go to this location. NO more good service No napkins......this place is ghetto...and super low clas.The energy has left.
