Good food. I have never had an issue with the food. Always warm and recently taken out of the over persay. The salads always... crisp. This last time we visited the roll I was given was extreme hard. I didn?t bother to check while on the line due that thishas never happened. So by when I was I. The table and taken a few bites the waitress was too busy and I just wanted to finish myfood. * Check your buns while on the line * If VETERAN and would like a discount for you and your SO make sure EACH ONE of youhas their ID or else only veteran will take the discount. They take this discount pretty serious here. If you want a Togo boxask as your sitting down or else at times you would have To chance someone down to get a box. The Gentleman waiters are alwayson top of the situation when they are waiting tables but the ladies are a little slower especially around lunchtime becausethere truly is a need for several waiters and not just 1 or 2 for the entire diner. Hadn't been here for quite sm time. Glad that I stopped. Got the usual, Chicken fried steak, cream gravy w/2 sides. Bought on... Saturday, but eaten on Sunday. Surprise, it was absolutely delicious! Rude as all hell. I was standing in line and my incarcerated dad called me, obviously a call you can't miss. I was next for my... food and the line worker looked over me to the woman next to me, completely ignoring me, and took her order. I tried to orderand get his attention and he pretended like I wasn't there. I went to the back of the line all over again and this time withoutbeing on my phone and it was like a veil was taken from his eyes, he could see me all of a sudden. The food at Luby?s (Dallas South Hampton Road)was not that good to me. I had gotten a fried fish platter with sweet potatoes,... spinach and roll. Dessert was carrot cake. The fish was fried really hard with to much breading on it when I took off thebreading there was this small piece of fish with all this breading. The candied yams where from a can and not very good. Theonly good thing I enjoyed about this platter was the spinach and the cake. I tried my cousin black eye peas and stuffing thatwas good. I would give them another try but would order something else. The food was great, and the servers were nice. I wasn't told the child's plate was a different color: I expressed that it was... for my toddler, but was given an adult plate. I was embarrassed getting to the register finding out that I had to be charged foran adult plate. Nevertheless, everyone was kind. Read more
My bill was totalled incorrectly,and to Lubys favor. The food was cold when we got to the table to eat. So was the people's... beside ours. We found out later that half the line was out so a lot of people were getting cold food without a notice orapology or price adjustment. The only saving factor was the manager and staff were , for the most part, helpful, friendly andvery gregarious. A few in the serving line were talking amongst themselves too much this slowing down service and checkout. This in turn helped to make the already not hot good even more not hot......cold. Read more
