Sometimes, you are driving with dogs in the car, and need a burger. This was my issue earlier. Several times, I?ve had the pups... in the car, and have driven through to get a quick bite. They?re always so sweet to our dogs. They are given treats and talkedto. One of my dogs has anxiety about car rides because she was previously abandoned. Those kind words and treats go a longway! Both the lady and gentleman in the drive through we usually see, are just the sweetest with our dogs, one of whom ispretty unruly. Also, the burgers are pretty dang good. Hot fresh, made to order?(the mushroom Swiss comes with mustard for somereason, but you can get Mayo on it.) The hot cowboy and hot hickory are great. Our burgers were good. I love their fried mushrooms and option to get beer through the drive-thru.
Perhaps my expectations were too high, but my family and I were underwhelmed by our experience at Jake?s. We?ve been to... Keller?s, Burger House, and many other local burger joints of this sort. I looked online before going and was excited to finallytry Jake?s. The one employee I interacted with was very nice, so no complaints about customer service. 1. All the burgers aredefault double burgers. If you aren?t hungry enough to eat that much, you can request a single but, in the words of our cashier?we still charge you for a double?. This resulted in us feeling like we had to order more food than we wanted, and left food onthe plate at the end of the meal. 2. Although the selection of burgers is good, we got 3 different kinds, including Cowboy,Chili cheese and mushroom, and we all felt underwhelmed by the flavor. My son, who is an avid burger lover, said his seemed likethe meat had been sitting for a while. Mine had a good spicy BBQ sauce, but otherwise it was a pretty empty burger, with just aslice of cheese and a piece of bacon. 3. The fries we received were cold and not particularly flavorful. I?d take Five Guysfries over these any day. 4. The cost for 4 of us to get burgers and drinks was comparable to what I?d pay at Red Robin withtable service and better food. I was surprised at the cost, especially after looking at the Google pics of the menu prices,which were apparently pretty outdated. In my opinion, it was not worth what I paid and my family was not impressed with theflavor or quality of the food. I felt like it was theme park pricing for theme park quality burgers. The environment was whatyou?d expect from a small, classic burger joint. Self-serve sodas, vintage decor, plaques about awards for how good theirburgers are. I rarely leave low reviews. Stopped by again today. The service was commendable. The food was delicious & on point. The serving size was more than I could... finish & had to carry the rest home. New pics. We ordered the triple for 5$ fried green beans, pickle chips & mushrooms,Jalapeño topper burger, & hot dog. I loved it & so did my son. He absolutely loved that burger. This was the best meal I've had all year. I love those poppy seed buns. I had the beyond Burger and it was so flavorful. My... husband had the BLT and he loved that. We also had queso tots and they were awesome. I wish there were more locations. We haveto drive about 30 minutes to get a burger from y'all. I highly recommend Jake's, this is the best food ever.
