After me & my wife left the Galleria Mall we were looking for a place that had that down home southern fried catfish and shrimp.... This place was just what we were looking for. I had the 12pc butterfly shrimp with fries & hush puppies & a catfish fillet. Mywife had the 3pc catfish with 4pc shrimp. We also had seafood gumbo as well. I honestly really really wanted to like this place. I asked the cashier for recommendations for grilled plates and she said the... most popular was the red snapper. Even though it was $5 more than the catfish, I decided to take the recommendation. I ended uppaying $19.43 after tax and was sorely disappointed. The fish had absolutely no flavor. This seemed to match other reviews. Iwonder if it's a hit or miss depending on the day? Ironically the sides (rice and beans + grilled veggies) were packed full offlavor, but not the fish. One friend got the Cajun platter and liked it, so I knew I was taking a risk by not getting a friedoption. The other friend ordered shrimp tacos and the shrimp had a very strong fishy flavor and did not seem fresh. This was my first and Last time. I'm visiting Dallas from Chicago saw this place and thought I'd stop in for some Catfish &... Shrimp. Unfortunately the Shrimp were fried too hard. Both the Catfish & The Shrimp had too much Cornmeal Breading Neither hadFLAVOR Or Seasoning. I also ordered the Red Beans And Rice Looked Good But No Flavor Or Seasoning. The flying fish is a very cool place to visit and eat at! The food is good and the staff are helpful. The grilled options were... underwhelming so I will recommend fried over grilled. Ordering is informal and I will recommend having an idea of what you wantbefore joining the line to order. It is fast food style, you order, pay, and get a device that alerts you when your food isready. The interior is well decorated with with photos so that is something to look at while waiting for your food. There issufficient parking. Read more
Love this place for great and quick lunch breaks! The fish is awesome and the Banana Pudding is my absolute favorite! I get it... everytime I eat here. Service is quick and the staff is helpful and wonderful to be with. Outdoor seating, though small, isgreat to enjoy! Most especially great on cool days with little sun! Read more
Went there for dinner during a business trip to Dallas in this October. The setting in the restaurant is pretty colorful, not... crowded probably because it was the work day. Fresh and delicious seafood in a fast paced environment is always a welcomed treat. The establishment is clean, well kept, and... has an energetic atmosphere. The food has always been great every time we have visited. I?m a huge fan of their raw oysters andcrawfish (when in season). Definitely worth a visit if you?re near by. Read more
