Reviews for El Bolero Cocina Mexicana in Dallas, TX
Love this place. Nearby where we live and outside of the service being occasionally slow (understandable with being short... staffed) there isn’t much not to like. The food is fantastic. Chips and salsa are a hit, the seasoning on the chips is likecrack. This trip I got the scallops with lobster rice and it was one of the best dishes I’ve had in Dallas and I’ve livedhere 8+ years. This place used to be really good. Service was outstanding but the food quality just seemed to be a little off. Mostly because... the chilaquiles I ordered were very LIGHT on chicken and HEAVY on tortilla strips. Could be better! Read more
Been here on our date night. We had tacos and salad. Nothing special but typical food you find at other Mexican restaurants. Not... many options for vegetarians. I gave 4 stars just for the ambience. Music was little loud for us. Over all ok experience notspecial or great. Read more
Went there for lunch on a Saturday. Started with chips and salsa they bring to the table. Good salsa and thick chips. Ordered... two apps next, red snapper ceviche and the chicken sopes. Ceviche was good and the sopes tasted like something my Mom or grandmawould make. Ordered the taco árabe and wasn't a fan of it. Too much cinnamon on the pork and the pita was just a store bought,Sysco, or US foods kind. Definitely overpriced plate. Last was Ribeye Vaquero, a 16oz steak, and the cochinita pibil. Theribeye was served with asparagus and fingerling potatoes with a chipotle agave sauce on it. Ordered the steak medium rare, cameout medium. Potatoes and asparagus were good. Sauce was too sweet for me and my dining partner, tasted like sweet baby Ray'swith a little chipotle mixed in. Pibil was good but also dry, the sauce and beans helped out. They offered desert to compensatefor the overcooked steak but was kinda full already and passed on it. Would I go back to eat here... yes and no. Read more
Decided to make reservations here for a valentines dinner. Unfortunately, we were not seated at the time of reservation, it... probably took 30min to seat us but overall the mix drinks were delicious, my favorite was the cotton candy margarita, theenchiladas verdes were good but expected better, the appetizer was amazing (grilled AVO) and the service was wonderful.
