I?ll start by saying the food is good and generally authentic to the Middle Eastern / Mediterranean cuisine. With that said, the... service was ABYSMAL. Quite literally the worst service I?ve received in years. They were not short staffed or even busy. Therewere 6 other patrons in the restaurant so the staff is either lazy or poorly trained or both. We watched them gather in thecorners of the restaurant to chat and hang out while we waited to be served drinks and food, which we had to ask about multipletimes. We waited 10 min to be sat, nobody acknowledged us at all. We sat another 10 min before we had waters, another 10 for asingle drink, and longer to try to order an appetizer and entrees. There was no acknowledgement or apology for how terrible theservice was. We wanted to love it, but the service was so horrific that we will not return despite living in the community. Wehave advised our friends to skip Anise. Read more

I decided to eat here after a quick Google search of restaurants nearby and Anise caught my eye. At the suggestion of my server... Noah, I started with the whipped ricotta, served with warm, freshly made soft pita which was amazing. I then tried the crispyoctopus, which was crispy but moist and tender on the inside. It was presented perfectly sliced over firm Fava beans and a lightchipotle aoli, so delicious. The duck rillettes was the final plate I choose and the date jam was phenomenal, I would haveenjoyed more of the pickled onion pieces to cut the sweetness and fattiness of the dish but it was still great. Last but notleast was the housemade hazelnut icecream. It was the perfect ending and not overly sweet or heavy. The portion sizes were asone would expect and prices were reasonable. Anise offers appetizers, charcuterie and small plates to share, main courses and afew vegetable sides to accompany your meal. Service was friendly and very attentive. I will definitely return ! Awesome, attentive staff. Fabulous, inventive, delicious cocktails. Very well-curated wine selection. Food is good but... cooking/presentation/consistency has a little room for improvement. Breakfast is simply stunning! What a beautiful, completelythought out spread. Pastries to drool over. House-cured smoked salmon - yummy. Terrific cappuccino. Dinner is nice, but it hassome stars and duds. The olive app is worth twice what it costs! The octopus small plate was perfection the first time I triedit and super disappointing the next time. Poached salmon - you want to dance, it?s so amazing! And this may seem nitpicky, but Imust comment on the tableware. Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous pottery, but it?s all bowl-shaped. Your food clumps together, andyour cutlery just slides off onto to the table between bites. I?d like a flat plate when appropriate. Read more

I was disappointed. The restaurant was beautiful and upscale so we expected high prices, but the portions were SMALL and the... flavor profiles fell flat of expectations. In short, it was good, but not great. Not somewhere I would return for a specialnight out. Read more

I had wanted to like this restaurant so it is a little bit disappointing that the experience fell flat. I had found Anise... through Google Maps and saw that they had great reviews. The interior, as others have mentioned, is quite cute. I can imagine itbeing a nice place to hang out with friends, if the food and service were equally amazing. Starting off with the food, myfriend and I had ordered the fattoush salad, margherita flatbread, and the lamb kofta shakshuka. While the food certainly lookedgreat (for the most part) my first thought was ?is this all we had ordered?? While I had not expected extremely large portions,I had thought that the portion size would be a little larger than what we had actually been served. It feels like the servershould have mentioned, or made suggestions, if portion sizes were on the smaller side. Putting that aside though, in terms oftaste, the fattoush salad and the margherita flatbread were the most disappointing. The fried pita within the salad tastedpretty stale, which I am not sure is the norm or not. Additionally, the margherita flatbread not only looked prettydisappointing but tasted kind of like what you would expect, in terms of quality, of frozen microwaveable food. In other words, not very great considering you are expected to pay $16 for the flatbread. The lamb kofta shakshuka was decent but I do not thinkit was anything to rave about either. In terms of service, I think it was the most disappointing part of this restaurantexperience. It could be that it was just a bad day for the server, or perhaps the restaurant was understaffed. However, I justremember that the server did not seem very happy and the overall service was really slow. I think it took over 30 minutes to getour order taken and then it took even longer to get our checks after finishing our meal. I had glanced at the parties next toour table, who were seated after us, also waiting quite some time for their check to arrive. Honestly, I feel like r Read more

Went to brunch here this morning. The decorations and ambience are very inviting. It definitely has a Mediterranean feel. We had... the morning bread, egg white frittata, and the mezze plate. Everything was delicious. We also got the mimosa platter which wasfun for mixing juices. The service was also outstanding. We will definitely be back but probably for dinner next time! Read more

Anise is a great development for the village. It brings a Mediterranean menu to the area but most importantly it brings brunch.... I stopped in and ordered a couple things and loved it. I'll be back for dinner. Read more

We consider ourselves incredibly lucky to have had the opportunity to dine at Anise on their opening night to the public!... Everything from the ambiance, decor, creative, yet delicious, food, and wonderful cocktails were perfect. With the restaurantbeing brand spanking new, we went in knowing that there would probably be a few mistakes made, but we were so optimistic afterlooking at the menu online. The Drey Hotel is stunning and this lobby restaurant is so unique. Crispy octopus, a wide selectionof oysters, charcuterie, lamb shoulder, saffron rice, branzino! Wow wow wow! We were so incredibly overwhelmed by how beautifulthis restaurant was, how kind and attentive the staff were, and how fantastic every bite was. We loved it so much, we havealready made reservations with friends to return again tonight! The only tip I would share is please make sure all team membersare educated on the menu and can answer questions as they pertain to the wine list, or what regions your oysters from, or even"do you like this?" Perfect those simple things and this restaurant could be well on its way to being the best restaurant inDallas! It's seriously SO good! Read more
