One of my favorite music venues in the Black Hills. Outstanding food, chill atmosphere, and great local beer on tap. One of the... best middle sized live music venues in the hills with acts every weekend along with other activities thruout theweek. Definitely worth the trip. Read more

Was in for an event and then for Karaoke. What a great asset to the community this venue is. Our group needed a space indoors... due to weather and the Beacon was able to accommodate us. Went back Friday night for Karaoke. Great fun! Food and drinks weregreat and the atmosphere was so fun and welcoming! Wish there was a place like this where I am from. Read more

Great music and outdoor space. Only wine and beer which was kind of disappointing. Also had coffee options. food was great. I... made do with a glass of wine, my cousins enjoyed beers several were offered and an outdoor fire pit to sit by. Read more

This place might as well be the Custer, SD visitor center. We were in town (or just outside of it) for three nights and we... stopped by every night for food, live music, and karaoke. I am not exaggerating when I say this is the only MUST during ourentire trip in South Dakota. We did a lot: Mount Rushmore, ATVing, hiking, Deadwood, but The Beacon is what I find myselfthinking about today at work. The food was really good (I got ribs) and was served from the side building after ordering fromthe bar. The interior venue space is large and well-designed. They have tables near the bar with pool tables and a few high-topsbut the stage is surrounded by couches. I absolutely LOVED this. Coffeehouse vibes but with a prairie spin. I get the feelingthat this place functions as kind of a town hall. I feel like we met a good cross-section of the town while we were there. Icannot speak highly enough of those we met here. It was truly the perfect welcome to the Black Hills. My only regret about mytime in Custer is that we did not spend more time here. The bar staff was fantastic, the food was great, and the locals werefriendly. The Beacon has a good mix of locals and tourists, especially in the later hours. DO NOT MISS this place. I am not sureif I will ever be back to Custer, but if I do, I hope I can stop by and have a drink. Thanks for the memories! Read more

I took a picture of this place to remind myself and my family visiting not to go. We didn?t have a good experience. You go up... to the counter and pay for your food up front which was different. People brought their dogs in?. Not service animals. Hair anddander was everywhere. Now I?m talking about dining Inside not outside. Blah the food was nothing to write home about. Wouldnever go back . Great food and atmosphere! My husband and I found this hidden gem while traveling between Yellowstone and Custer, SD. The salmon... salad was delicious, my husband had the Dakota Dip, both were great. A generous beer selection, you?re bound to find somethingyou like! We also enjoyed the live bluegrass music as we ate dinner. Family friendly too! Read more
