Reviews for The Detour Bistro Bar in Los Angeles, CA
Great food, clean, nice atmosphere, easy to park, sat outside had some drinks and watched the game. The fish tacos were... extremely good, can't wait to go back. Read more
First time trying this restaurant and the service was horrible. The owner or waiter (older man) gave me and my sisters racist... vibes; it seems as if our presence was an inconvenience. We left after he impatiently attempted to take our order. Do notsolicit if your black or brown. Definitely does not give a welcoming energy. Read more
Decided to stop by and have a drink with some friends, but were told they won't allow us to order drinks without food. Literally... as you walk in there is a full bar... guess they didn't want our money. Made sense why the place was almost empty. Ended up atHatchet Hall next door, which turned out to have an awesome drink menu. Read more
We were waiting at the door to get in and the greeter came out. All of us were dressed up from having had a nice dinner at... hatchet hall next door. Told us that they weren't a bar and to go somewhere else. Very rude. As a group of minorites, itmakes me wonder what the motives were for barring our entry. We understand if they wanted us to buy food but the bar was emptyand we weren't being loud at all. Just wanted a quick drink after dinner. Read more
My friends and I were dressed to impress on a Wednesday night visiting LA. Waiting to be seated, the staff member asked if we... were eating or drinking. We responded with drinking as we had finished dinner. We were rudely told "Not happening, we aren't abar guys." I respect your rules but the staff member was outright rude. Bar is in your name, so how were we supposed to know. Not sure if he was in a bad mood or the diversity of our group prohibited a friendly interaction. Practically empty restaurant, with a non rowdy group willing to spend, and this is how we are treated. Highly recommend you look elsewhere. The food anddrinks were amazing at Hatchet Hall next door! The greeter was fantastic, he was very friendly and welcoming. The server on the other hand was unbelievably short and rude. I... had never been to the restaurant and asked about a lunch menu, this man just stared at me for about twenty seconds and then saidwe don't have a lunch menu. Only a brunch and dinner menu. You could tell this man wanted nothing to do with us. When we orderedtoast he never gave us a choice. We had to ask him about the options and then when he asked if we wanted anything else to drinkI said maybe later, he took the menu as if I was going to remember the drink menu. The food was delicious but the service wasawful. The only reason they got a star was so I could write the review. Read more
Good eats. Good vive. Good cocktail. And reasonable budget considering. Really tasty special of mussels! And a banana bread... pudding. Put it together and we had such a good time the foodie gormond types are talking about it an hour later. Read more
My partner, brother and I walk here quite often from our house in Mar Vista. The food is consistently good and the service... friendly. I usually end up ordering the muscles. A FAVE. We have been coming her for years. ?? Read more
