I used to come here with my mom and dad years ago and it definitely brings back some good childhood memories.. their food is... good but customer service not so much; I ordered a combo and the guy didn?t make sure I had utensils and just like walked offafter taking my payment. Literally the best Indian food in LA. The family that works there is so incredibly nice and welcoming. They always pile up the... portions and it is impossible to leave hungry. I?ve eaten here since around 2012 and have never been disappointed. If you don?tknow much about Indian food, they?ll gladly help you pick out a meal you?ll love. Okayish. We ordered mysor masala dosa, chana bhatura, dahi fuchka, regular fuchka, masala chai and lassi(sweet and salted). I am... a fan of mysor dosa and chana bhatura, but, I did not like it much here. They were okay. In chana bhatura, chana was good butbhatura was not actually bhatura at all, it was very thick and different. Fuchka was okay, but towards sweeter side. It's a compact Indian grocery store with a small restaurant inside. Surprisingly large seating options for such a small shop.... It's kind of expected that you won't get the best service but wasn't bad. I had some samosas & other appetizers and it wasdecent. All food items are vegetarian. They have curries and dosas. On my first visit to India Sweets & Spices, I had a great experience. It seems that a majority of people that came during my... visit came for the food. It is quite a small, cramped grocery store but my review focuses on the restaurant portion. It is apick and chose menu where you can see the prepared dishes before you pick them for your plate. I tried the Mutter Paneer and theJack Fruit Curry which were both pretty good. It came with rice and 1 roti. Everything tasted fresh and made with care. TheMutter Paneer did have an odd aftertaste but maybe that is the way they flavor it here. Read more
