This place is alive with chatter. What a great scene. Sat at the bar to eat and the bar tender Mallory (hope I got that... right). Was the Best. She remembers names and makes you feel like old friends. Very welcoming. Couldn't ask for betterservice. The regulars are all really nice and the crowd was a mix of all ages. Food was spot on! My husband and I decided to drive up to Culpeper from Fredericksburg for lunch on this beautiful Saturday afternoon. We really... wanted to sit outside, but it was full, so we grabbed a table inside. It was lunch time, so the place was pretty busy. Becausethe servers and customers are going in and out to the patio regularly, there are alot of flies inside which was annoying, but Iguess can't be helped. We ordered some onion rings and truffle fries. Even though we were not offered any type of dipping saucefor the onion rings, they were delicious. Nice and thick cut and some of the best we've had. The truffle fries were ok, but Ithink would have been better with freshly grated parmesan and aioli dipping sauce. My husband ordered the BBQ Burger and it wascooked as exactly as he asked for and he said it was very tasty. I ordered the Philly Steak Sandwich and while not a traditionalPhilly Steak it was delicious. The roll was soft and the chopped sirloin was so tender it melted in your mouth. Onion rings were legit, clean oil and light batter. Bloody Mary uses ZingZang and came out great. Burgers were on point and... plenty big. I love this place and I'm shocked at myself that I haven't reviewed it sooner as I have been enjoying the food and atmosphere... here since they opened. I have had the privilege of tasting so many appetizers and sandwiches here and I'm happy to state that Ihave never once been disappointed. The food and service here are always dialed in and I really appreciate the menu and beeroptions as well as the daily specials. I will also say that their wings are really good, I just wish they had more flavors forthem. Burgers (any of them to be honest) and poutine are a must try. I got the lamb gyro and Greek salad today and both weregreat, especially the lamb which was well seasoned and very tender. Thanks to the owners and team at 309, keep being awesome. Read more
Dec 2021, what a gem. We will scheduling our trips thru VA in the future to pass Culpepper around lunch from now on. Vegetarian... wife and I were both very happy with food and service here. Both agree they have the best onion rings (pic) we ever had (which Idon't say lightly). Spinach & Artichoke dip was great (we had bacon on the side). Liked the raw chopped red onions on top. MyBeer Cheese Fried Chicken sandwich was probably the best fried chicken sandwich I've ever had. Meat was tender and juicy. It was super crowded when we went to Grill 309 on a Saturday afternoon. Given that the good is delicious and plentiful, it is... understandable why it was so crowded that people had to wait for a bit to be seated. My husband ordered the donut burger and Iordered the double grilled cheeseburger with pomme frittes fries. Both food items were delicious and we got pretty largeservings. The restaurant vibe was chill and our waitress was very attentive, helpful and friendly. They have outdoor dogfriendly seating. Read more
