Had a wonderful dinner tonight. The Marker 48 Red Ale was great, the smoked mullet dip is a special kind of amazing and the crab... cakes and grilled red shrimp were delicious. Our server Jessica was awesome! We will definitely be back. Read more
This place was recommended by a few people on the Manatee Tour we'd just finished. We lucked out getting parking up close and... not having to wait too long when we said we were willing to share a larger table with another small group. We were able to lookout over the water. The plates are large and mine included A Lot of shrimp!! Be prepared for that and the fact that they arecash only. There is an ATM in the lobby though. My only regret is that we got 2 iced teas instead of one iced tea in water(after having a gross water experience at Charlies) because that meant we didn't have enough cash to give our wonderful waitressthe tip that she deserved. O M Goodness. This place. Unbelievable. Fabulous dinner tonight. Started with a cup of chowder each. Real good. Wife, Crab Cake... Sandwich. Awesome!! Me, Low Country Boil. What a fantastic place! I was wanting fresh seafood and my friend, who lives here, took us to this place. I was also afraid that... getting coconut shrimp was a bad idea since it might not be locally caught, but it was fantastic! Lightly breaded and servedwith a hot marmalade sort of thing. We also split the mullet dip, which tastes like a super smokey tuna salad (but a bit betterthan that.) And when I asked for more crackers for the dip, she brought us a whole package of them. Our server was also able tosplit the dip on our separate checks, which was super nice of her. Really excellent food, excellent service, and a fun view ofthe water birds at the window - cranes, pelicans, and more. Note that it is CASH ONLY , though there is an ATM crammed next tothe bathrooms. Great local vibe tucked away on the river. I've never been disappointed at The Crab Plant! The food is always fresh & hot and... the beer is cold. I Love the clams and cheese grits. ???? It's fun to eat outside and watch the goings on at the dock. Greatfood and a wildlife show, can't beat that! Read more
The good first: Server was very attentive, food came out quickly, food was hot. They were busy but still ran a good... process. The not so great: The shrimp were fried (only way they would come with the trio) a little too long. Kinda tough. Notuneatable, so I didn't complain to the restaurant. The cheese grits needed significant salt. The portion sizes were on the smallend given the price. Across the board the food was average in flavor and seasonings from those items I tasted from my familiestrays and mine - was hoping for a bit more. They only take cash (clearly posted so not really complaining but would rather paywith card - so just a preference). Read more
